Lauded as opening the school of science by the same people who demanded his dismissal two seasons later after being conned by the carpetbagger that the good times were just around the corner. Bottom line.

All lies.

Actually demanded his dismissal as we kept getting walloped in football matches and only won 5 home games all season.

Are you being deliberately stupid?

Can somebody (preferably a Moderator) why these "Will you take" threads are being started, and now that they have, have not been locked (deleted) and this "Daveysgingerwhatever" has not been banned?

Forum traffic is much lower during international breaks I’d imagine so benefits the site to keep any busy threads open where possible.

Can't believe we're still discussing this turkey. He should consider himself lucky that Lukaku was never sold on his watch. In fact, we should be pretty thankful as well as a Martinez Everton side minus Lukaku would have absolutely plummeted into the Championship.

You ask any EVERTON fan if they like money or players performing on the pitch, then come back to me.

Imagine caring about profit on players.

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
Yeah, because Lukaku didn't perform too.

Bankrupt.

We were midtable at worst in the most dire period of RM's tenure here.

Add 5th places, record points and win records, cup SFs to the CV and you see it wasn't a bad record at all. Not one bit of it.

The reason why he was hounded out was because the clever people thought they were just about to get Mourinho and a bunch of Galacticos. More fool them. They were mugged off by the carpetbagger but prefer to continue to blame Roberto for their mugging. Go figure.

It maybe an International break thing - but as long as we stay within the guidelines, I presume anybody can can start a thread on almost anything.
It will fizzle out as the next game gets nearer.

Neatly side stepped there.
But this IS a Martinez thread and if you're not against...and thats how it sounds...then mostly you must be for.
He did add Lukaku Barry and Delboy and was good for 6mths. But went downhill, from there.
Like I said - neatly side stepped.
I'm a No. Just where do you stand?

I wouldn't take anyone back.

It is if you're a season ticket holder and had to pay for the privilege of watching that utter grabge.

Home games are considered more winnable. Losing away has always been considered more acceptable then losing at home by pretty much everyone. That's just the way all sports works and is taken for granted by most people.

I get that but surely at the end of the day its about winning as many points as possible regardless of where they are won?

I expect us to win every game ever played though so...

I don't even think he spent £10m on all of them put together, let alone tens of.

One of the main reasons he struggled was not having the money to rebuild Moyes squad which was on its last legs (Moyes knew that as well, he was on the verge of yet another rebuild), but with no money. Which is also the reason Martinez was appointed, to work on a tiny budget.

The worst 2 things that could've happened were 1. Kenwright telling the world Martinez promise (Martinez looked embarrassed when he said it, because it was a long term goal, not something to be achieved overnight) and 2. Having THAT season straight off the bat. Set completely unrealistic expectations for his entire tenure.

But the positivity he brought back into the club was something that we miss massively.

I don’t think all of this is true. The squad wasn’t on its last legs. It had some older players Dustin Howard Osman Pienaar and Cahill and Neville left with Moyes. He had players in their prime though such as Fellaini Jelavic Baines Coleman Jagielka Naismith Gibson Heitinga Oviedo

He pretty much dismantled that core of players though and created a squad of dads and lads. He backed his idea of a few young stars in amongst cheap older players. That said we forked our our club record fee for a striker, club record fee for a midfielder and club record fee for a defender T the time under his watch. We even paid out 5 million for the Barry loan, what Moyes would have given for all of that.

The squad we ended up with was completely unbalanced and predicated the problems that Koeman then compounded by buying what he saw as prem ready players like Bolasie Siggurdson Williams etc. just to fill the gaps in the squad between youngster and veteran.

What is all this unnecessary nonsense?

We finished 11th twice in his last 2 seasons.

Again I will try to help you understand - He was hounded out as we kept getting walloped in football matches and won only 5 home games all season.

that’s it, no other reasons, stop making things up for once.

He had 1 great season (with Moyes defence) then once he dismantled that we went backwards.

He took over a side that consistently finished top 6 and was able to maintain that for 1 season only.

Three seasons under Martinez = a 5th spot, 2 cup SFs, last 16 in Europe...on a minimal spend

Three seasons under Moshiri = a 7th spot, nowhere in the cups, nowhere in Europe....after handing hsi variety of hand picked plant pots a mountain of cash.

"The Mosh" really had some people off.

More inconvenient truths.

That Dave is not a fair comparison, Moshiri was not a manager and Martinez was not the owner. You are letting your obsession get carried away.

Compare brown shoes to last 3 of Moyes, other seasons with brown shoes replacements. If I rememebr correctly his last season was yuk.
