Wrexham.....

Am I the only one who sees this going absolutely tits up? Two Hollywood lads with no clue how to run a professional football club get hold of a club and the first thing they do is make a "funny" video about the club sponsors, a couple of Netflix series later and these boys will be run out of town

Theyve clearly realised how much money there is to be made in getting a club into the Premier League but I hope they know exactly what they've let themselves in for. Football clubs shouldn't be treated like toys.

Will be interesting to keep an eye on.

I think given how Reynolds has several investments which have proven to be successful show that he has the right advisors and sense to not be blowing it.

If Wrexham go up, they’re guaranteed 2-3 games a year on Sky, various levels of exposure for the club and sales will soar.

Maybe they’re in it for the money, but they will probably get Wrexham out of the football league and then they’ll probably get a decent owner of they do walk away.

They bought a non-league club, it’s not like they have to plow 100 million quid into Wrexham to get them going

How much money do you think it takes to get any club "going" in the English leagues? I was part of a supporters trust who have just handed their club over to a new owner (Cork City to Trevor Hemming's) so i have a keen interest in this kind of thing, but at least Hemming's has history in running professional football clubs, I wouldn't have given these two the club toaster tbh but only time will tell

If they can get Wrexham promoted out of that league, then there really isn’t any reason why they couldn’t get back to at least the League One level (where they were before the first terrible owner came along). Once you’ve got there then anything is possible.

As for these two, I didn’t want to se the WST sell to anyone but I am much happier it’s these two rather than some absolute frauds of the kind that infest clubs at this level. I just hope the Netflix money, if there is any, goes to the club more than them.

I'm sure it will. I see that as being the main source of the 2 million pound investment. Although sponsorship will go up, just think how much money it would cost to get an advertisement like they did for the club sponsor under normal circumstances? I bet companies would love a bit of that.

It's a fairly safe bet as I see it for them. They aren't spending a lot of their own cash up front, if they get to the league proper then anything they do after will see a return. I doubt they are that bothered in a quick sell for chump change so they could be in it for the long haul as long as they can keep generating the revenue through the club. The size of Wrexham means this should be championship level before they have to think can they go further without a change in ownership.

Very interesting BBC Article, and if this is seen as some "hero-esque" stunt, where they take an unglamorous side like Wrexham, get them promoted, all whilst selling it to Netflix, which make Wrexham profit and for them, the important part, them profitable too.

For Reynolds, he is just a money maker, anything he touches turns to gold. Look at the Gin business he sold, he'll be doing it to turn it to £££'s.

You're right though, get back and anything is possible, but JUST how committed they are will be a different question.

Either way, it's a positive time to be a Wrexham follower.

In the context of this statement, £2 million is loose change. £20m might give them a chance.
Depends what they are spending £2m on really. At the level they are at, and from their manifesto, actually building a proper training facility with a 4G might be enough to push them up. A lot of clubs at that level are either renting or using public gyms etc.
