That's mostly a result of attacking more than anyone else. I think if you changed it to what percentage of attacking moves end in crosses or which percentage of shots come as a result of a cross it would paint a different picture. Just doing volume is going to show City and the RS at the top of everything attacking wise.

Also at least for City, they cross from very tight in. Think about how many balls have gone right across goal for a tap in. That's much different than what Bolasie and Deulofeu were doing for Lukaku when Koeman was here.

My original statement was a bit basic and off I will admit. Crossing is still a part of the game you want to have, just not in the style of the 80s or even the way United used to do under Ferguson.

Just because it wasn't their fault doesn't mean people are going to be happy to see them staying here.

We'll get off their backs when they [Poor language removed].
My frustration lies with the club exclusively.

When Martina is on the field and playing poorly, that's when I get mad at him.

I agree, it was just a fun way to make you do a considered response and is quite amusing that they are literally one and two in the table. I do though think Liverpool have brought old-fashioned crossing back a little bit - the unpredictability can be a weapon in high-level games.

They have to a degree, Alexander Arnold has hit some beauties, but you're right in that it is a part of their attack and not all of it. That's where the game has changed.

City tend to get a lot of "crosses" which are really just passes across the box because they get so close in that it is just a simple square back. They also keep it on the ground a lot which makes it a lot easier to finish. Bolasie's style was going out in 2016 so of course that's who we signed. Koeman and Walsh.

This seems very hard for people to understand. By all means, rip Bolasie apart. But then you also should be ripping apart every player but about 6 from the last ten years.
I thought he was ok before his injury, lad don’t look good enough now though. My Mates a season ticket holder at villa and he even said he was garbage in the championship. Also I think everyone already rips into every player ,it’s the anti Everton player forum most the time, every players mistakes are highlighted and there moments of skill or glory are forgotten in a day or 2

Lennon and Walcott are not exactly success stories either.

Both of them were bit part players who showed the odd flash of quality and besides that have been middling at best.

I'm sure most of us weren't upset to see the back of Lennon and nobody here would be crying about Walcott.

Lennon was brought in as a squad player and for only 5 million which we basically made back from Burnley.

Walcott was a 20 million signing that I didn't agree with but we were absolutely desperate, thanks in part to wasting 28 million on Bolasie.

I hold Bolasie and Walcott in the same group of overpaid mistakes.
I don’t mind Theo, I think his game was picking up just before the covid out break. Inconsistency is a big thing for him but in a poor team it isn’t unusual and that’s what we’ve been most the time he’s been with us.His assist against palace was class even beckham esque you’d say but was soon forgotten after he limped off injury as people moaned ‘injured again’ .

Indeed. In his last season with us didn't have the best minutes per goal ratio in the PL?
Beckfords last season was his only season, I liked him just wished he got more game time but we stuck to 1 up top nearly all the moyes era unfortunately

End of the day he ain't a £28m player, neither is a iwobi £35m player . Could of signed 2 decent wingers for the price if those pair, crap work from Steve Walsh and marcel brands

There is still hope for Iwobi if he's used correctly. Unfortunately we seem committed to 4-4-2 which won't suit him. Bolasie though was probably always going to have to play a style that wasn't so good for modern football.
