Yannick Bolasie

We need pace, we need power, we need a left winger, we need some excitement.. Bolasie is all of them

Yes is inconsistent but how many wingers aren't? He is superb on his day

22 mil plus add ons may be slightly over inflated but that's the theme of todays market..

He's better than Kone and Cleverly who played there most of last year, he will be a marked improvement, but he is not Mata so some people will be fuming we've signed someone after fuming we haven't all summer... EVERTON

It's funny that, given I've been a fan of his for a while, I'm disappointed by this.

I mean if it was for 10-15m to give us options I'd be all for it. He is shocking in front of goal but he's one of the most skilful players in the league, he creates goals effectively and his blend of height, strength and pace makes him terrifying to fullbacks. But I can't stomach that kind of fee. It just doesn't sit right at all.

Anyway, if it happens, I'll be right behind the lad. He is a good player, make no mistake. Just not a 25-30m one.

I agree, we need another player who can play on the left

It's Mirallas and McAlney at the moment, and McAlney is probably not long for the club

Also Mikey, Bolasie offers something very different in regards to power.

So often we just look too small other than Lukaku. As good as Kev and Del are running at people, Bolasie's power does give him an edge (in certain situations).

My thinking is more that the money could go to buying someone we actually need.

Thing is Lou - and we're all guilty of this - we're basing 'what we need' on presumptions of how we should play, possibly basing it off the last few seasons in terms of the general style.

To me, a move for Bolasie would suggest Koeman is looking to go a lot more direct in terms of his system. Not exactly counter-attacking but certainly not possession based.

So, we may actually need a player like Bolasie for this system of Koeman's to work as it should...

Closer to £20m from more reliable 'sources' than what Sky quoted mate - which was a random EFC fan account started 6 weeks ago.

They literally quoted them word for word.

Clearly Sky aren't even bothering anymore then
I know it's not my money but £20m seems way too steep for this guy

He just needs a nu start. Then he'll be a world beater.

I agree mate but it is what it is.

If Koeman wants him, and he's willing to pay that amount, then it suggests that he sees him as a key part of how he wants to play and also, thinks he can get the best out of him.

FWIW, Bolasie's stats in a much worse team than United are better than Mata's for the past two seasons. Now, I'm in now way saying that it's either or, or that Bolasie is a better player, but it all depends on how Koeman wants to play.

It's clear we need a 'spark' going forward though, and something different to what we have currently.

That's a good point mate.

as I said mate, we all do it, but really we have no idea how RK wants to set up.

Mata may well still be a target and I think in all likelihood still is, but RK and Walsh may have seen it better off to go for Bolasie as he suits the way they want to play more after what they've seen in pre-season.

We'll see! Hopefully we just get this deal done quickly - think Williams will be announced today - and we can have them both in (even if they aren't available) for the weekend.

I always got the feeling he was way more of an athlete than a footballer

Breaking with his pace would be terrifying but does he have any end product?

Suppose he could always pass it to Del boy for that though
