Be interesting what the assist stats are

It'd be interesting to see what his "Assist, Assist" stats are too. Like what if he megged a guy for shits and giggles, then passed it to someone who passed it to that next person who then scored. Yer get me? Assista

Could be the end of Baines as an attacking force because there will be no clever inter link up play with Bolasie, he gets it and goes. So where does that leave baines, who apparently is a crap defender?

Sometimes stats don't tell the full story. Because of how tricky & unpredictable he is with regards to his movement & body shape he tends to draw fouls and an extra defender. This can create space for others and/or disrupt the opposition shape.

Perfect example of this in his prime was Pienaar who stats looked poor, but got many MOM performances

I don't really get this one, £25m? £80-90k salary, 3 assists last season, is he left-sided? I suppose we only really have Kev there who I think is naturally ride sided...?

Hard to clock up assists when you are supplying Connor Wickham. See what his numbers are when he is passing to a footballer.

Well he averages 1.1 "key passes" a match, 0.9 crosses, makes 18.5 passes with 72.3% ball retention

Compare to Mirallas at 1.3 key passes, 1 cross, 18.6 passes and 81% ball retention.

The one standout area for Bolasie is the dribbling stats. He attempts to dribble and drive at defenses at every opportunity. At every other aspect of the game he is far worse stats wise than any of the alternatives within our existing squad.

I still can't get my head around the fee and why we want this player , for that price there are so many more better players , oh well I hope this crayon proves me wrong and become a vital part of the team.

I'm not going to sleep, fuming!

We've missed someone at the top of the "assisting the assister" league since Pienaar left the first time.

Known as a 'hockey assist' state side..

Is it? Gundogan was £20M and has played in CL finals and world cups. It's £8M more than Nolito and the same as Mkhitaryan. Better value abroad.

not saying those aren't better players - they all are - but none are similar players.

however, if we're willing to pay that much for Bolasie, to me it suggests that he is a player that Koeman sees as key to us being able to play how he wants us to.
