If there was no net spend (or little net spend) that will have alarm bells ringing. I think we're likely to keep Lukaku and have a net spend of around £10m-£15m. But the hoopla surrounding Moshiri's takeover will end.

There's no fast track for us. We have to get this organisation commercially viable and that largely comes down to a new stadium...in other words, it comes down to what we've been talking about for the last umpteen years. Moshiri standing behind a stadium scheme should though ensure new faith in EFC from local government and private sector potential partners. That's the upside to Moshiri for me.

We sold Stones for £47 million.

Gueye at £7 million, Williams at £10 million, Bolasie £25 million and Kone for £17 million (I accept two of these haven't actually signed yet) would come to £59 million. That would be a £12 million net spend.

Then you have Koeman saying he expects to bring in 3 or 4 more players, so assuming two of them are Kone and Bolasie, would would expect the net spend to be a lot more than £15 million.

Raging. This bloody clown.

Like Bolasie? Where we're overpaying for talent thats not there?

The point is attracting those names. Despite taking a punt, those players still had egos and still had fees and still were able to move to undesirable clubs.

We're making out as if we're the Hull's and Sunderland's of this world...and we almsot are buying this feller for our record fee.

Didn't say I agreed with Bolasie, but that's what Koeman wants. He's the gaffer.

It's difficult to attract a big name after two years of finishing 11th and having a past of selling our best players when the opportunity presents itself. I still believe the big name(s) will come, just later this window. Still 3 weeks to go.

Imo, we haven't seen the last of outgoings. If a decent bid came in for Mirallas, for example, I believe it'd be taken.

Net spend isn't going to be substantial.

I can see him going too actually.

Moyes in for Baines wouldn't surprise me one bit either.

For us to spend mid £20 million or whatever for only the 2nd time ever it has to be a big big player. Lukaku, for all the improvements and consistency he needs, is getting us 20 goals, which nobody else has done for years. Bolasie is not going to be worth this much money. And he's going to be our most expensive signing? Please!!

But thats the point. Other clubs have attracted named talent despite having being relegated.

The bottom half finishes only effect the ones unable to seal a deal...which we've been notoriously bad at for seasons

I can see Naisse leaving but no one else in the front line

Not exactly flush in that position are we and at least Mirallas can play up front

Wouldn't be such a bad thing either if we got rid of some certain players either.
We're allowed to spend £7M on top of last season's transfer budget and Stones has been sold to boost the pool of cash available for quality signings...and we do need that quality in. So a decent net spend should be expected if we're to get rid of those certain players who hold us back and replace them with quality.
