Ive been saying this, this window has been in some ways underwhelming, if he was still in charge people would of been having whiprounds for planes this time last week, just shows these things ain't as simple as replacing Kenwright and everything is on the up. A lot of the abuse thrown his way at times was over the top.

He should have been hounded out. Our fans were far too easy on him.

If there was no net spend (or little net spend) that will have alarm bells ringing. I think we're likely to keep Lukaku and have a net spend of around £10m-£15m. But the hoopla surrounding Moshiri's takeover will end.

There's no fast track for us. We have to get this organisation commercially viable and that largely comes down to a new stadium...in other words, it comes down to what we've been talking about for the last umpteen years. Moshiri standing behind a stadium scheme should though ensure new faith in EFC from local government and private sector potential partners. That's the upside to Moshiri for me.

Indeed. It is the stadium issue that has to be fixed, certainly before trying to dive into a transfer season that will become a byword for idiocy in a few years time. Sort the manager out, appropriately improve the quality in the squad, keep the indispensible players (or rather, player) and get started on getting a ground that can bring more money in. If that is Moshiri's plan, he is going it.

I ain't buying this "it'll take time to rebuild" chat.

Just as an example, Newcastle and Stoke are/were still able to attract named talent like Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Affaley, Sissoko, Bojan despite either being relegated or being smaller club than ours.

Getting talent in is purely down to the people doing the deals, not the size of the club.

Just using those names there:

Wijnaldum - Always seen as a top talent but didn't have the attitude to suceed at the top level. Also an injury concern before his move thanks to a back injury. Always linked with top teams but never made the move. No wonder he went down.

Shaqiri - Similar story, massive ego and bad attitude yet never succeeded.

Affellay - Big injuries cost him at Barcelona, Stoke took a punt on him and it may pay off.

Sissoko - Disappointing one because we were linked initially and I think it was a decent price - 8/9 million maybe when we were crying out for a midfielder like that. Massive ego and actually not that good.

Bojan - Similar to Affellay, injuries plus the hype about being the next best thing at Barca made he didn't succeed. That's why he bounced around Roma, Milan and Ajax.

Stoke and Newcastle will take punts on those players, we haven't been able to in the past. We'll get talent, just not overhyped talent with baggage.

Like Bolasie? Where we're overpaying for talent thats not there?

The point is attracting those names. Despite taking a punt, those players still had egos and still had fees and still were able to move to undesirable clubs.

We're making out as if we're the Hull's and Sunderland's of this world...and we almsot are buying this feller for our record fee.
