Wouldn't surprise me if we pull the plug on this one if the board maybe have been able to gauge fans negative reaction towards his signing - if this forum is typical of what most fans think.

If so disgraceful really, people think we can sign carvalho witsel or Mata instead - get real they aren't coming.

Don't really think the club will take any notice of what we think about a player we're after mate.

Maybe Palace are thinking to themselves that they need to get a replacement in before they allow Bolaise to leave, makes perfect sense to me for them to do that.

Also, I don't think the Williams transfer went that smoothly, considering Swansea accepted our bid, then pulled out.

What you on about? Signed. Sealed. Delivered. Million less than reported. Swansea wished him well publicly.

I think the club are doing the right thing personally. Bolasie, Williams & Kone are all proven in the Premierleague and the last thing we need is another Niasse.
Bolasie is hugely over priced, but I agree with what you're saying.

After those 2 we need a keeper and AN other striker to make it potentially a decent window, Mata would crown it off like.

I agree, I would have loved 3 or 4 superstars and I kidded myself into thinking that's what might happen. But when I sit and think sensibly, it was never going to be the case.

Quite agree, we all got a bit carried away.

The likes of Kone, Williams, Bolasie and Gueye will steady the ship, and the ship definitely needs steadying after Martinez's reign. Make us hard to beat and tough to play against first and foremost, then buy a superstar or two.

OK sound. Carry on with your negative outlook. I applaud your lack of optimism based on here say.

How's it negative, if you look at my posts on Williams you will see I was made up we got him because he boss, and the type of player we have been crying out for. In my last post on his thread when it was confirmed we had signed him, I actually said "He's here, he's boss, now lets all get behind him."

I was asking you a genuine question, you said it was £9m, I hadn't seen that reported, I just asked you where that had come from (was that just hear say) I was going off the BBC who are reporting it as 'fee unconfirmed' If we have got him for £9m, then that is a great bit of business from the club.

Noticable that his first 4 signings look very likely to be a Goalkeeper, Defensive midfielder, and 2 centrebacks, Bolasie looks like a signing made to give us pace on the counter - we are setting up to be a counter attacking team - which actually suits the better players we already have (Lukaku, Barkley, Deulofeu) problem will come though as we still have absolutely nothing different against teams that decide to sit back against us, thats when you need that centre mid with a bit of quality and an attacking mid like Mata/Silva etc

If we got Kone, Williams, Bolasie, Gueye and then two star signings of either Mata/Bony/Carvalho and kept Rom I would think that would be a very successful window.

A lot of IFs still.
