£25M is still a big transfer.

It certainly is no doubt, its a chunk of our budget, as this war chest was a myth all along.

Koeman has previously commented how much he likes the player.

To me, it's not so much of a panic buy, but more Koeman maybe switching plans on how he wants the team to attack.

I think initially, based on the first few games of pre-season, he was willing to try and build on the decent foundations RM had put in place attacking wise, and then sort out the defence as a priority.

However, I think he's realised that we've become a bit stagnant, with a lot of our attacking players being very similar in terms of style, and we tend to overplay - this being incredibly evident in the Espanyol game.

That to me is why he's changed tact and prioritised Bolasie, as a player who brings something different to what we already have.

will be useful in 5 a side. I'm of the same mind of you, think he's vastly overrated. But i just think he'll turn out great for us, just a gut feeling. Think he'll annoy us but please us at the same time, there's no doubting that if a manager can get him to be consistent he'd rip this league up. The RS can never deal with him so he may be worth 2 deby wins a season ha. Big if's at the moment though.

If he came in for £12M maybe it'd be bearable.

Another suspicion I have is that it's going to encourage a kick and run game.

By no means am I happy btw paying above 15 mill for this guy. But it's now the cost of prem players it's risen and the fees are pretty higher than they was.

I think he's probably come in and seen the attitude and work rate of Mirallas and immediately knew he had to get shut of him. If that happens then it'll almost be worthwhile.

I just think the cash could have been better spent, tbh. I just wonder if the wages situation is hamstringing us now: we can get better quality for that fee elsewhere, but a better quality player would command higher wages and that's an issue at the club...or seems to be.
