Yannick Bolasie

You are someone who is irrationally positive about everything, shouting at someone for being irrationally negative about everything.

You're the opposite ends of the same spectrum.
I'm not mate, 3 performances on the bounce like yesterday I'll flip on him like a 2 dollar hooker, I'm fine if I end up being wrong about Koeman, but yesterday, in the league could still be an anomaly, much like Martinez first season here, compared to his entire PL record.

Should/could isn't was/is.

That might be harsh, but then again they are the stats by which other players are judged - who no doubt have their own near miss stories to tell.

And that's a valid point.

However, you're using 'no end product' as a stick to beat Bolasie with - it clearly isn't the case

I'm just using an industry accepted metric to measure his importance to his team's during his career. It's clearly not that impressive....certainly not the standard you'd expect from a £25m player. For £25m you could be getting in a quality player in the veteran category like Robben or Ribery. That's what they'd go for these days.

But are they faster than Usain Bolt?

I think the sort of player going for £25m is changing rapidly mate.

Two years ago Bolasie would've cost £8m.

Tend to agree
I mentioned I. An earlier post that the money we paid for Miralles is about the same as we paid for Bolasie

Football gone mad

A 32 and 34 yr old coming to the end of their usefulness with deteriorating levels of fitness and speed at that age given the positions they hold.
Plus the wages of £15-16 m with no return

32 is young for this team mate!

Seriously though, the pair of them would piss all over Bolasie and add some real firepower to this team. No disrespect to Bolaise, but he's simply not in the class of those two even if they were nearing 40 years of age.

Like him a lot. He's one of the few players who tries something different.

If he was a nine or ten out of ten every week at palace then he would have gone for a lot more to a much richer club than us.

We have to buy players as a stop gap in a way. Think of Scott Parker at Chelsea and lescott at City. Get players in to win games and then move up a level.

The issue is wages with those 2 though isn't it? On fees we could afford them but on wages maybe double or treble what Bolasie is on.

....and CL football to offer, no doubt.

In theory if we had CL football one of them would probably come for a lot less of a fee (they'd insist on Bayern accommodating them given their age and the service they've given) and the wages would be stiff but worth it....probably a cheaper and much better quality option than Bolasie for £25m.
