I know. But that's the quality we should be looking at to bring in...and we shouldn't be looking at too much more than what was paid for Bolasie to get it.

Its not about what you can afford, its about what you can attract.

Honestly I really think you have just blocked out the last 2 seasons at Everton, I really do, like some kind of Martinez PTSD.

I'm just using an industry accepted metric to measure his importance to his team's during his career. It's clearly not that impressive....certainly not the standard you'd expect from a £25m player. For £25m you could be getting in a quality player in the veteran category like Robben or Ribery. That's what they'd go for these days.

I'd say in the five PL games he's featured in for Everton he has created 10 very good goal-scoring opportunities that I can think of off the top of my head. 2 of them have been converted.

I won't judge a player duly on his assists tally if I can see they are creating chances. Bolasie in his time with us so far has done that, and is our leading assister this term.

Nah mate, this is like foreplay for David. He's Oliver Reed naked wrestling all comers and just when you think you've got him beat he'll spin you effortlessly around and bum you within an inch of your life.

I tend to agree with this.

If someone claiming to be an ITK had came on here in July or early August and posted that EFC would break its transfer record to fetch Yannick flippin Bolasie to The Park he or she would gave been laffed outta Dodge.

Every bugger on here was like "you wha" when rumours of this potential record deal started to filter through.

We knew what we were getting.......we have seen the totally inconsistent nature of his game in the few games he has played for us.

Alex Young, Alan Ball, Bob Latchford, Gary Lineker, Romelu Lukaku.

They were the sort of big names Everton broke its transfer record to buy.

Now it is Yannick Bolasie :pint2:

Yay ;)

Laughing at the though of you believing that a mercenary gives a flying one if a team finished midtable or 7th.

Ha ha.

"Chances created" - if ever there was a BS nu-football measuring rod for the gullible punter it's that term.

You may as well attribute "corners won" as a significant indicator of value.

What makes you think we're the quality of club robben and ribery would be looking at? Do we send them a DVD of Goodisons greatest night with a contract offer to sweeten the deal?
