Yannick Bolasie

I particularly like when Bolasie rolls his foot over the ball, does a step over and then kicks it past the defender in order to run on to it.

Could've had Chadli and Nathan Redmond for the same money. Hard to argue that wouldn't have been better value.

I don't think Spurs would have been too keen on selling Chadli to us.

Redmond is okay but we have a very similar player in Deulofeu.

I've said it time and time again but Bolasie offers us something different to what we have before and I'm baffled why people are unhappy with him.

He's got 3 assists in 7 league games, he's formed a very good partnership with Rom and really should have had at least 3 or 4 more assists having set-up some proper sitters (2 at WBA, 1 for Valencia v Bournemouth and 1 for Gueye vs Palace).

By no means consistent but we knew that already, but so far he's been a good addition.

He's not different enough from Kev for my taste. He's a head-down merchant just like Kev and Gerry, wants to get the ball turn and run. We had much more important issues to address than another winger and think Chadli is more a heads-up type which is what we needed more imo. He's fine I don't mind him done ok but I think those two would be better value and give us more options.

If Bolasie continues to average 3 assists in 7, he will finish the season as one of, if not the most creative player in the league..

In addition he's created numerous more clear cut goal scoring opportunities..

It is arguably a fact he has had good start and has played to the level of a 30 mil player in todays market

He isn't anything like Kev or Del. The only similarity is the position he plays.

Del is a winger/forward who has no real strength, but a lot of pace and trickery, along with an eye for a good cross.

Kev is a bit more silky than either of them, probably a better passer than both and more adept at linking the play. Since his injuries he lost a yard of pace but is by no means a 'head down merchant', his best moments for us have always come when he's been linking up in and around the area (why I personally think that he could be moved central more often - like we saw against Sunderland).

Bolasie is much more about his power. He's tall, has a lot of pace and most importantly is strong. That means that he offer something at both ends as well as being able to expose a full-back with his pace. Yes, he's inconsistent, but pretty much any winger is.

I've never known a new signing to get so much stick on here despite having such a good start. I genuinely don't know what people expected of him.

In the age of the internet saying you'd prefer someone else or he's done fine means "you hate the lad". Get a grip man I said I'd have preferred Chadli and Redmond for the same money not that I think Yala is crap. They're head-down merchants imo and too similar.

Good luck with that fella...I'm not holding my breath ;)

Romelu Lukaku (R) chats to Yannick Bolasie during training
Everton forward Yannick Bolasie has made a training ground wager with Romelu Lukaku about scoring 10 goals this season.

The winger, who joined from Crystal Palace in the summer for £25m, made a bet that he would net at least 10 times for the Blues.

“He joked with Romelu that he said he would score 10 goals, I said ‘OK it is a nice challenge’,” Koeman said.

“He is one of the players that needs to have more productivity. He is doing well and happy to have him.”

Koeman was asked whether the team are too reliant on the goals produced by Lukaku. He said that it would be better for the team if they had more players that produced an end product to take the burden off the Belgian.

But the manager praised Bolasie’s versatility and his value in the squad. The Congolese winger has never managed double figures – his biggest tally was for Plymouth Argyle in the 2010/11 season when he scored seven.

Yannick Bolasie gets a cross in against Crystal Palace at Goodison

“It is that type of striker that you like to have in your team. It is a player who can play out of different positions in front.

“He gives a lot of energy to the team, he likes to work hard and improve. He is a fantastic player to have in your team. He is really committed to everyone in the club.”

Bolasie is yet to score for the Toffees but the imperious form of Lukaku means Everton have made a solid start to the season. Koeman will hope the “joke” between Bolasie and Lukaku will light the fire that propels his side up the league.

He can be an exceptional crosser of the ball for sure.

There's just times when it looks like he cant cross for ... well toffee to be honest!

If you get a consistent Bolasie you have some player. But I'd imagine Palace were aware of this too.

if you could get a consistent bolasie he'd be at one of the best clubs in the world and be labelled as one of the best wingers in the world. The boy has the lot to be fair, he just, like you say, does things really badly at times.

And anyone whom watched Palace this past few years were aware of it as well.

At 27, he is as good as he is ever going to be.

£7 or 8 million addition to the squad......fine.

A decent bit of business..

Record signing, "marquee signing" as it were and as such impossible to drop at the moment no matter his anonymous he seems to be most the time, not so much.

I know prices are barking mad at the moment but boy, we paid well over the odds for Bolasie, even in this market.
