Yannick Bolasie

I've seen boss players at Southport. It's horses for courses isn't it?

Yannick is boss at beating a man or skinning Seamus Coleman on the outside, but is he Arjen Robben?

It is horses for courses, you get players that stand out at any level. So you're saying Bolasie is our level? Even though you say he isn't good enough for the top 4?

Bolasie for me pretty much summed himself up in the Burnley game, The first half was stupidly poor and the second half he was amazing, a real threat topped off with a great goal. I think what we are looking for is consistency and I feel what the squad has now is to many 'form' players, Yannick, Rom, Del, Ross and Kev can all be amazing on any given day but when the chips are down we need more Colemans and Gueyes who have performed more consistently on a regular basis.

Thing is 25m, we should be buying consistency with that. Not a streaky player who looks good 1 game in 3 or 4. But he's always been a streaky player, so shouldn't really expect too much. I just think, with the money we spent we could have done a hell of a lot better. Seemed like a panic buy at the time.

lol

Schurrle and Perisic! I'd have taken Messi myself.

Shurrle is playing for Borussia Dortmund and Perisic for Inter Milan. Doubt either would have been temped by 11th placed Everton and that's why we had to go for players like Bolasie instead.

Bolasie has done well since being here, as stated by other posters, he can only create the chances. If he doesn't get an assist because the likes of Barkley can't head the ball in the net from 6 yards out then that's hardly his fault is it?

We need that class of player was the actual post.

Ss fo Bolasie and assists: he's been hopeless for three seasons at creating those - maybe all his team mates everywhere are to blame?

Lol.

Scored a good goal at the weekend didn't he Dave.

Bolasie in every game so far has had some really excellent high moments balanced out by head hitting a brick wall moments of real frustration. But he is getting worked overtime for us, the only real outlet on the counter attack and the one expected to lay on most of the service for Lukaku. It would be nice if others could do their fair share as well.

He did. Well taken it was too.

That doesn't make him great value so far for £25M though.

It's early days, but so far he gets a generous 5/10 from me.

That's incredibly harsh. Hasn't he created the most amount of chances for us already since he's been here? Plus having 3 assists and 1 goal. Of course he hasn't been £28m good, and probably never will be in all honesty. But there's been far worse players this season. 6 or 7/10 so far for me.

Please dont add another £3M on. It's bad enough already.

On our list of problems, Bolasie is far down the list for me.

On the body of work thus far, for me he's been our second best attacking player, and third isn't even close.

Does he roll the ball too much with his cleats? Does he make us fume from time to time? Sure. But all in all he's been pretty good for us, puts in a shift and has put in some exquisite crosses, and in a world where Troy Deeney could have gone for 30 mil, then yes, we bought him at a decent price in today's market.

I know fuming is more cathartic than chilling out and being realistic, but there ya go.

So you're conveniently focusing on assists rather than chances created so you can use it as evidence that he hasn't been good enough? I assume you've watched a lot of Palace over the past three seasons to come to the conclusion that he's been poor at creating chances/assists then?

And as you've mentioned it, it wouldn't be that far fetched to think that maybe the ability of his team mates did have an effect on his output. Connor Wickham, a 32 year old Emanuel Adebayor and now Championship striker Dwight Gayle were the options they had up front. Hardly a great strike force is it? 9 goals between the 3 of them all season. Or is their lack of goals all down to Bolasie as well?

to be fair too bolasie, no other winger / attacking player has supported rom at all and hes getting all the flack, geri has been woeful, mirallas invisible, ross has been terrible, i think bolasie is the only one who has done anything and seems to get the most flack dont think it is the worst start ever and he will get better
