Player Valuation: £15m
Been one of our better players this season so far and definitely been our best winger.

You seem to be very protective of Bolasie. So you're conveniently focusing on assists rather than chances created so you can use it as evidence that he hasn't been good enough? I assume you've watched a lot of Palace over the past three seasons to come to the conclusion that he's been poor at creating chances/assists then?
And as you've mentioned it, it wouldn't be that far fetched to think that maybe the ability of his team mates did have an effect on his output. Connor Wickham, a 32 year old Emanuel Adebayor and now Championship striker Dwight Gayle were the options they had up front. Hardly a great strike force is it? 9 goals between the 3 of them all season. Or is their lack of goals all down to Bolasie as well?
Christ.

There's no need. He's not being dismissed as hopeless. The issue is the price tag for a player with such a modest record and reputation for not turning up in games. Call me old fashioned, but I want as near as possible to top draw for that kind of money.
The rest of world football look on and laugh at this league. The value for money is pathetic. That's underlined when you see English clubs totally dominated in the CL and EL for the past few seasons...a period that coincides with the truly ridiculous cash that came into our game. There has to be a relationship there. Maybe it's that clubs now have so much cash (even the smaller ones in the PL) that they get very slack in their due diligence on players they bring in.Sad thing is Dave, £28m is becoming a pretty normal fee for a player it seems. I like the lad, but is he worth the same as Rom in terms of value to the team? Nuts when you think about it.

Tbf, even in this cracked market place - that fee for Bolaisie was seen as insane.Yep. The list of "great" players coming in on ridiculous fees and wages is obviously headed by Pogba atm, but United, as the current example, have paid gazillions for either over rated, over hyped, or over the hill players. And are a million miles away from giving Chelsea or City a game, let alone RM, BM or Barcelona.
We paid the going rate for Bolassie. Who was sold by Bristol City for about £300,000. Insane.

He;s ok. I get why he was brought in, but I'd rather we spent it on a number 10 and a GK.

I assume you haven't watched him a lot at Palace then. As over his career, including his time here, he's created .......................22 'big chances'. twenty two! Bare in mind the quality of Palace' strikers as you mentioned, he probably should have more assists, but 22 'big chances' created is a shocking statistic. Even more shocking looking at them stats is the fact we payed that much. From 514 crosses too, tells you all you need to know about his crossing as well!
You're saying Bolasie has only created 22 "big chances" in 98 appearances but then link to Lennon's page where it says he's only created 1 "big chance" in 25 appearances.

So on average Bolasie's creates 1 "big chance" every 4 games compared to Lennon's 1 every 25 games.
Lennon has 33 goals in 310 league appearances compared to Bolasie who has 10 goals in 70 league appearances. So Lennon scores 1 in every 9 games compared to Bolasie's 1 in 7.And Lennon 5 goals in 25 Apps, hence why I said he's more of a goal threat. Instead of creating them, Lennon scores them!
