Yannick Bolasie

He works really well in this league because lets face it; he's a big boy that has some pace on him. He has just the right amount of skill to make an impact too, and he tends to put some great crosses in. If he can cut all of the stupid nonsense out of his game (I don't mind him attempting a trick, but he ruins great opportunities with poorly timed showboating) he will become a much better player. Also needs to work on his finishing because he does tend to find himself in scoring situations.

Really don't understand the fume directed at Bolasie - he brings it every game and has more impactful moments. Much more so than Kev, who seems content to just run around out there and look like he's trying. And I'm a Kev apologist.

Yes, maybe he cost more than we think he should have, but such is the current state of the league. That's what he cost. He's been a very good player for us this year and gives us something we didn't have before - a powerful, pacey, attacking player with no conscience.

I rate him

Bolasie joined for an undisclosed fee, and though it could rise to the figures reported, how much we paid is in question. I hope that makes his detractors a little happier! We might have paid £17m with add-ons dependant on goals, achievements etc. who knows?! The £25m/£28m/£30m could just be paper talk.

A couple of shots yesterday that were blocked were deffo on target which was a pleasant surprise. I know a big gripe from the Palace fans was him ballooning so many shots over the bar, something we seen quite early on in his performances and one I hope we see less of as he learns to understand when to shoot and when not to.

He gave the ball away a couple of times in stupid areas but that's what you get with him. Overall I've been really pleased with him, I like how unpredictable he is. He's certainly no Kanchelskis type winger but who is. What he does have though is confidence to keep plugging away, 1st goal yesterday an absolute perfect example

For better or worse, he is a unique winger. He has the attributes to be really good for us. Obviously a clown, but maybe Koeman will get him straight.

Seems to me that much like when Lukaku arrived at the club with his £28m price tag, there are some (negative) Evertonians who will use the price tag as a stick to beat Bolasie with regardless of whether or not he actually does well for the team.

Clearly he could improve his consistency, but as an inconsistent player he's still proven that he can contribute not only with assists and creating chances, but also with hard work. His tenacity for the goal was great to see and we have benefited from that on a few occasions this season.

He has managed to form an excellent partnership with Lukaku, and sits 2nd in the assist table, whilst also creating numerous other great opportunities that weren't put away by his team mates.

People also need to appreciate that the reason Bolasie (and to an extent Lukaku) play for a club like Everton and not better teams is due to that lack of consistency in their all round performances. For me, they both frustrate at times, but both are contributing in goals and assists at the moment. If Bolasie was capable of improved consistency then I doubt he would be at Everton for long as there would be CL teams in for him given that he's 2nd in the assist table despite having played poorly in parts.

I have higher base standards for a player who cost £25m+ than one who cost £60k, yes.

Like I'd have higher expectations from a meal at a five star restaurant compared to egg on toast at home.

For the cost - considering the club we are who haven't until this point had billions to throw around - I simply expected something better than Bolasie, even taking into account the inflated market. I'm not sure how that is in any way controversial.

but if you bought a meal at a five star restaurant you're not buying an egg on toast ! if you bought egg on toast ( footballer in your analogy ) from a five star restaurant it wouldn't be much different to what you could get at home ! and then you could judge them on a par ! just like we have to do with footballers regardless of cost ! its 11 v 11 for 90 plus minutes ! not arguing with you just trying to put across as different view point mate so you can enjoy him a bit more !

TBF in this market, a 25mm player is more like a 4 star restaurant, maybe even 3 star.

Just sayin

Let's be honest lads, he's scored 1 and assisted 4 after 10 games in the league, he's capable of weird and wonderful skills that will get the crowd cheering and he makes the indispensable Lukaku happy and do weird little dances on the pitch. It's not my money being spent but I'd say he's well worth it if he keeps it up.
