Yannick Bolasie

They've all had game time though. He's the only one that has been making things happen.

Because he's the outball for the whole attack, so he sees loads of the ball.

The problem is his conversion rate is abysmal. If he had double the amount of assists, I'd agree with you, but he has four and fewer goals than Gareth Barry despite being our second primary attacker. Lukaku is similar in that his overall performance is often poor, but at least he converts to goals.

All you need is a pair of eyes to see that he's been awful. As we all knew before we signed him, he has one good game in ten. Nowhere near good enough.

He hasn't been though.

He's our top assister.

He'd have had another two today had Barkley and Lukaku finished (lets face it) extremely good chances (and yes Bolasie was very frustrating today).

He creates opportunities (and very good ones at that) every time he plays.

That's more than can be said for the rest of our wingers.

Ha yeah OK mate, he's been great, proper top drawer.

Best move of the game fell to him. For £30million he has to score.

I don't think he's as bad as Tubey obviously does, he certainly should have had more assists if it weren't for poor finishing.

However, some of his play is brainless, very poor decision making at times and he seems to be getting selected and kept on the pitch regardless of performance.

I suppose it's all very well complaining about the fee, but there weren't exactly players queueing up to join us and we'd probably just be pulling our hair out at Kev or Del if he wasn't playing.

It's not just that though... any player can miss a chance. But a player for that sort of money shouldn't be braindead and balloon a shot 40 yards high and wide of the goal in injury time when about ten other smarter choices were on, after 90 minutes of mindlessly belting any and every cross he made. Over and over again, every game.

... and have saved £26m approx instead of signing someone who does nothing better than those two do.

It was a domestic panic buy to spend the Stones money to stop the fans rioting, nothing more, nothing less.

You put Deulofeu in that role for 10+ games and he puts in the same performance and gets the same amount assists, but he does so for £6m and far less wage. That's the problem. It's not that Bolasie is bad - I mean he is, really, really bad, but he'd actually be an OK impact sub option for around £10m or whatever. I can't ignore the transfer fee. I know it's not his fault, but wow is he so far off that sort of fee... it's embarrassing for everyone involved.

On the money.

I get your point about the fee. I had (for a while) thought 'well sod it, we've been paupers for long enough, we don't need to worry about it anymore'.

Given the failure of other new signings to materialise I'm no doubting that. I guess the January window will settle that one.

I'm not willing to write him off yet, he's only been here a couple of months. He is good when outpacing the defender and crossing the ball, that's where he should concentrate all his play. I'm sure Koeman has spotted this and will give him, the same benchwarming duties, that Ross has had.
After all, he's not a young player anymore and has enough experience to know what his role is?

But its the overall idea that he was a main target and that hes supposed to be somekind of benchmark for Koeman's style of attacking play

Nah I'm not going down that route.

Koeman has always liked Bolasie. Fair enough. Just paid what it cost to get him.

Why not use Gana as the benchmark?
