Yannick Bolasie

....in the new world 18 months from now, perhaps he'll be a squad player who we can bring off the bench. If he's an indication of the Walsh/Koeman transfer strategy it is a bit underwhelming but it would be unfair to judge on him alone at this stage. Only time will tell.

I'm a fan of Bolasie. It's just that he's no good playing with his back to goal, as in the second half yesterday. He's best when he's running full tilt at a defence.
If his assists had paid off in the first half we'd have been all right.

A wierd player like, something terrible, sometimes brilliant and very rarely anything but those two extremes, in a team performing well with a lot of reliable players he would be that x factor you sometimes need to do soemthing special etc, in a team not playing well then he can stick out a bit and be the focus of the fans fume etc.

Overall playing better than Mirallas, Deulofeu or Lennon whenever there on the pitch, so can't slate our current best winger

Far and away our best winger & its as simple as that. None of the other three have come close to contributing as much as Bolasie has. There are players in the squad that deserve criticism, Bolasie isnt one of them.
Perhaps you're correct that he's been one of our best wingers, however that doesn't mean that his performance yesterday can't be questioned.

Better than Lennon yesterday? Possibly so, however his own performance had me feeling extremely underwhelmed and below standard.

For Koeman he offers an option when the ball is played long, he has a higher work rate defensively than any other winger than Lennon and he still provides more clear cut chances than the other forward players, no matter how frustrating he is.

He was frustrating as hell yesterday. Extremely wasteful in the second half and should have scored just before half time.

Nobody is disputing that.

But, even playing badly, when he got involved in our play, stuff happened. He created our two best chances (bar the goal), that should have resulted in two goals.
