He runs back...i can see that...but is it effective?

I dont think it is...

There's a few times he's got back and helped out and made good tackles but I've not been particularly impressed by that - I don't know why people would cite that as his main contribution though.

It's like people arguing that Lennon was decent the other day when he 'tracked back' - even though he constantly let Bertrand have a five-yard head-start due to not closing down.

Bolasie's work-rate comes high up the pitch. He does press - he's the only one of our forward's who does - and he is imposing when running at players, despite his clumsy style - he usually manages to beat his man

The point is, if you're going to criticise him, then in interest of fairness every player should be getting it. For some reason this fella is getting the most flack and although not saying much outside of The keeper and maybe Gueye he was our best player yesterday.

I'd agree he's been our best winger( Lol not much to bleat on about) and If we'd have paid 5 mill he'd have been an excellent buy but for the transfer fee we paid he's not. You could argue that the fee is irrelevant but for me it is relevant , keep signing players of his calibre at them fees and I'll almost guarantee we won't be very successful and we'll just be another equivalent of Spurs of the last 10-15 years if we're lucky. For me £30 mill signings should be shining like diamonds in our team. At least Lukaku gets goals over the season even when he isn't shining.

Totally dont agree on this, you cant expect him to do better because of what we decided to pay for him, if he isnt worth what we paid that dosent mean he is a bad player, just that we dont have any idea what we are doing in the transfer market.

Look at Del, we paid 4m for him and he plays like a 4m player, but that dosent mean he is a better player then or offers the team more then Bolasie just because his value for money is better. All that counts is what you do on the pitch and Bolasie has been one of our better players this season, now its up to the other to play better

Each to their own mate but I've been looking at that Pogba an thinking what a waste of dough he is, if he'd have been a free I might not be laughing so much. I expect the more money you pay in transfer fees the better the player should be, same as most things in life really, houses, cars, even down to Women, food and beers ect. the reality is it doesn't always add up, I feel thats where we are with bolasie for me he's putting in performances that without being terrible just don't justify his transfer fee.

I'm not too bothered about the price TBH. He's more likely to create a goal than Barkley and if some rag link Barkley with a move to (insert club) tomorrow for £20m some posters would be LOLing it as nonsense, I say some as I'd drive him to inserted club myself for that.

I dont claim to be a football 'expert'.

I have worked in the industry before in a small capacity but I dont shout about it.

Perhaps ive just been spoiled having seen some super players at the club that when we sign someone for £23-28mil i expect a lot more...

Even if this bloke was free id still be disappointed that hes got a permanent place on the wing.

Bloody hell Barkley must be worth about 2mill by your estimations

Haha fair nuff, like I said to Carlin above and so far I do think he's an improvement on what we had but he's to inconsistent to warrant praise and again for me he's well overpriced bit like someone buying me a bacon butty for a tenner. Lucky it's not my money eh or I would have something to fume about.

Its just made up isnt it...saying hes off to marseille but random clubs are in for him.

Well that's why I said a Google search comes up with more results mate.

Pretty sure it was well-documented though even at the time that we signed Gueye that Koeman (and Walsh) had both been interested in him in the past.

This is kind of how I figure it:

- S'ton (RK) and Leicester (SW) interested in Gueye
- Gueye chose Villa over either of them
- SW goes for Kante as Gueye's alternative
- SW and RK come together at Everton. Everton need a 'dynamic' midfielder + Gueye signs for Everton
