He has been our best winger by far and its not even close. Lennon isn't making much of an impact either which is a real problem.

Side note: When Mirallas played in the middle yesterday he actually had some pretty good moments and was solid overall. Maybe Koeman should give him a run there and see if he can give Barkley competition for the spot. We really don't have much to lose at this point.

Our leasing assists so far and unsurprisingly he created the most clear cut chances in the league this so far, he's been let down by poor finishing.

His biggest problem is 1. He's seen as a Koeman signing and 2. Because he's inconsistent if he puts some crap balls in he will be hammered yet the same people won't compliment him on his strengths.

He was by far our best outfield player at Southampton, the only one in the side that gave them anything to worry about, is that a reflection on how bad the others are? I dunno, but the criticism he gets is pathetic while he puts the effort in.

I agree, like someone has said just a few posts up, people have made their minds up about him and are just going to pan him no matter what. I was suprised yet not suprised that his thread was on top of the main page a lot yesterday post match, I wouldn't mind if those who were critical of him went into every player thread to slag the players off, but for some reason this lad is getting the most grief, which in itself is odd as those who have been 'at' him since the start of the season, by the way they talked about him, shouldn't of been expecting anything from him, now they're criticising him when in their opinion he is doing what they thought/said he would. Odd.
 
I like him, he works hard, looks like he cares, doesn't hide and tries things. He is brain dead though and that'll only get us so far.

It's just folk patting themselves on the back, they kind of prefer him to be awful than see him and Everton do well.

Yeah you're totally right mate. I travelled all the way to Southampton on a Sunday afternoon praying that we'd lose so I could gloat to a load of people I've never met over the internet.
 
There are literally 8 to 10 players who deserve to be criticized more than Bolasie. He didn't price himself at 25 mil. We did. He's been one of our better players recently, and seemingly every half chance we do create comes from his play. Does he waste chances? Sure. But if he creates 4 and we take 1, that's better than someone else creating zero chances.

The point is, if you're going to criticise him, then in interest of fairness every player should be getting it. For some reason this fella is getting the most flack and although not saying much outside of The keeper and maybe Gueye he was our best player yesterday.

I don't disagree and I've said as much on here. He's not a bad player, and he's done some good things. The flip side though, is that just being better than some of the others doesn't mean he's exempt from criticism.

Lukaku gets hammered by fans at times despite being our only goal threat for 3 years on the trot. People are slating baines and jagielka as if the last 10 years never happened and people have written off Deulofeu and Lennon as championship players even though they were 2 of our best players last season. It's hardly earth shattering to find that a marquee signing who is struggling to have a consistent impact on games is getting some stick is it?

Obviously he didn't set his own fee but we all know that players will always be judged on what you pay for them. If stracqualursi had cost £10m he wouldn't be fondly remembered for his effort, if Cahill had cost £30m we'd have expected more than 10 goals a season, and if bilyaletdinov had been free we'd have thought the odd howitzer made him a good signing. Like it or not, much is expected of bolasie because of his fee, and the odd good cross when we're on a losing streak isn't going to be enough to satisfy most fans.

That's fair, but other players are letting us down more than him. If he gets an assist a game that'll do for me and in the last two had Barkley been competent he'd of had two and Barkley would of had 2 goals and we may have had 5 more points which would've put us level with spurs. He's not been great but he's by no means our biggest problem nor biggest underperformer.
 
I've seen a lot of people praising his tracking back yesterday... I cannot believe this, he made one or two runs back but was overall was woeful in that regard. He would often just walk back and watch the right back overlap essentially giving Baines a 2 on 1 to deal with. I was watching him all game and great going forward but just so lazy, if you look at their goal, it was the right back who put in the cross... It's so frustrating, what I don't get is how contradictory Koeman is, he said Del and Mirallas were being dropped due to poor work rate yet keeps playing bolasie.
