It was just a strange buy to me. Pacy and little more. £27M.

I'll never understand that. Palace must have a copy of the cheque in a case on the boardroom wall.
I know. It's a far cry from you thinking Niasse was going to be our Bolasie type.

Depends on your definition of footballer. He's an expensive Peter Beagrie: just no end product. His time at Palace and here underlines it.

£27M down the toilet. I'm pretty certain when the dust settles on Koeman's time here we'll be looking back and scratching our heads at Bolasie.

It doesn't depend on my definition of a footballer. I don't rate him, and was irritated he was our biggest signing that summer....I thought it was ridiculous. However whatever way we wanna describe or highlight his faults he isn't a poor player. He has been playing a while in one of the best leagues in the world and has been pretty decent. Contributed enough to Palace's time in the Prem to be a fan favourite.

You can just state you aren't happy with the signing, no need for the repeated OTT dismissal of the player to hammer home the point every couple of days.

And you missed the part in my replies about you writing off a young player in Calvert Lewin after only a couple of appearances. A nonsense really. I have my fear he was bought as a functional strong front man to suit the more direct side of Koemans game, but despite not liking the idea of that I like to give a player more than a few minutes on the pitch for us before dismissing him as "championship standard'.

Yes I agree, at half the price and pre injury I'm sure it's more understandable.

Calvert Lewin: seen enough, tbh. He just doesn't have it. I haven't written him off, though. I've said he's a player who wont make it in the PL with Everton.

Bolassie was just a bonkers signing. It's like when you are a builder, and a friend asks you to quote for their neighbour's drive. You don't really want the job so you turn up out of loyalty to your friend and quote them £20,000 to do the driveway. That night they ring you up and agree to pay the £20k and ask when you can start!!

It's the problem with the way you write. Tone is all opinion written as FACT, like Rafael on a ref rampage.

I have my doubts that it's not intentional.
No, it's opinion. How can it be fact? What you're really saying is that you have less faith in your opinion than I do about mine.

How is saying someone is a Bolasie type the same as "I want Bolasie?". It simply means he's a winger that stays out wide and takes players on.
Because the forum knows you love Martinez and you were in the midst of telling us how Niasse was going to be another master stroke of his.

Yeah but Dave I didn't say it was fact.

I said your style is often all opinion shouted as if fact. It's nowt to do with belief in your opinion. I'm very convinced of my opinion on Bolasie for example and give it in this thread plenty times. There's many a qualifying phrase in the English language when conversing with people to communicate that you have an opinion but are aware it may be wrong and are open to other opinions.

You curiously choose the bull in a china shop approach instead which to nobodys surprise antagonises a load of posters. Even for the simplest of points. I'd be amazed if you are like this in person.

Far be it from me to defend Dave but he did claim Niasse wasn't Martinez's signing, not that he would be a masterstroke.
