.....according to @bobbydigital his stats when starting games as a central striker are very encouraging - I think he said 14 games, 7 goals and 4 assists. I just wonder if RK sees him more in that role.

maybe even in a similar role to how he employed Mane at S'ton - e.g. pace down the middle, playing off of Rom, with a flat three in midfield. He's tried it with Del in fairness but don't think he'll have the physicality for the Prem...

In no way are they similar players though.

Ignoring the fact that Mata is world class and Bolasie well, isn't... but they don't play in the same role or even in the same way.

Bolasie is a pure pace merchant, with strength chucked in. Mata is a playmaker, a link player.

It's what makes me think that Bolasie isn't an alternative to Mata. I'm not saying we'll be getting Juan, but it's not like we've gone out and bought a player in that mould...

We need a winger or two for rotation or to change the attack during a game so I don't mind Bolasie coming in. The fee is mental but it's not my money. Koeman and Walsh see something that he can add to us so just let it be and see what happens. He has lots of energy and tricks, with better players around him he will definitely set up a few chances from the wing and or across the box
