If a fee has been agreed you better all stop the bitching and get behind the lad, he's not as bad as some are making out, far from it.

He'll have better players around him here than he has had at Palace.

also not close to 30m apparently. even palace fans are saying 25m...

(still too much like, but so be it)

Hi, I'm a very occasional poster but my other half is a Palace fan so I see Bolasie 10-15 games a season, particularly over the last few years. Without doubt when he gets on the ball there is a real buzz and he makes things happen, easily the best attacking player on their team. Agreed he goes in and out of a game but we only have Del who can make 20,000 fans stand up in anticipation. Too often he is one pass ahead of the rest of their midfield or he makes an intelligent run they just don't pick up. Yep he definitely can be lazy but can turn a game. Who does he have up there with him? Zaha and Gayle?

I am pretty chuffed we have him, he is a very very good footballer from what I have seen and Palace would have been utterly screwed without him in the past few years. £30m, not too sure on that, but an improvement in the team in my opinion.

Yeah Zaha is [Poor language removed]. Not sure myself but that gives us Lennon, Bolasie, Mirallas and Del for the wings. Not a bad start that.

"good luck finding player who is as good as Mata for £20m", I have been saying that so many times on Mata's thread. I can't believe I had some crazy argument with people in this forum a few weeks ago who think Mata is not worth £26m-£30m. But Bolasie for £30m? Should I tag them? :) I wonder if they actually are happy spending the fees on Bolasie rather than Mata.

I don't actually understand this transfer as well. Everton already have pacey wingers (Lennon and Del). Do you even need Bolasie. Bolasie is a skillful player and selfish as well.

There's a better player in our midfield currently than Cabaye?

Not sure that's true.

It's what makes me think that Bolasie isn't an alternative to Mata. I'm not saying we'll be getting Juan, but it's not like we've gone out and bought a player in that mould...
Exactly! Bolasie is a pace merchant on the widths (looked less effective in the middle for Palace) who terrified defences by running at them.

Mata on the other hand is comfortable in the middle or just off the striker and terrifies defences with intricate play and delicate passing.

Having one purely because we can't have the other makes no sense at all, as they would fulfil entirely different roles in our starting XI.

I'm not overly excited by Bolasie in the slightest, especially for the reported £30m price tag, but it'll obviously give us extra options in our squad.

Will he push us on much further? I'm dubious but let's see. Yet we certainly still need a creative, football minded player who will link up our play.

Picking a front four from Mata, Barkley, Bolasie, Delboy, Mirallas, Lukaku and [inset generic striker] wouldn't be a bad choice for Koeman.

Terrible player. 1 in 10 record. No resale value.

We've sold the most coverted young defender in the world and spunked all the fee on short term dross.

Richard Wright has a premier league winners medal.

And if he's better, why are his stats not better when he's in a team full of quality players ?

Plays less minutes.

Played for Spain. Played for Seville. Higher level. Champions League.

Bolasie hasn't. No top club were after him. And we've spent £30million on him.

They're both bad. But I'd be more inclined to have faith in signing Navas as an example than Bolasie.
