True. But clearly our management team have seen something in him. I have seen him go from the sublime to the ridiculous. His consistency is all over the place but he is a threat and works tirelessly. If he compliments our ready established front line then I will give him my full support should he join.

I think you have to mix power with creativity, There is space in any football team for Mata he's that good. However Bolaise is also creative if something of a Maverick. It's the sum of all parts for me, I can see what he's trying to do, power and creativity, but also pace imagine Rom, Bolaise Del or Belg Kev coming at you in the first phase. Coleman and Baines in support. Throw Witsel, Barkley and Mata there to that a hell of a blend. Gueye, Williams and Kone covering the counter.

It's not about one player it's the sum of the jigsaw for me.

I think it's fair to say it's going to be more direct than Martinez and it's looking likely Koeman agrees with the majority of us that the sum of our team is much less than the individuals. There are good players there just no balance last year.

It'll be interesting to see if they can all last more than 40 mins this year. That would make a hell of a difference as would powerful positive runners. One problem with the sideways passing is the lack of forward runners and lack of options because of it (which leads to more sideways and backwards)

I'd be interested to see what our front line is this year. Hope to see kev a lot more and firing this year. On his day he's s match winner. Lennon works hard but don't win you matches. Del can create but doesn't score. Kev can do both. Sometimes. Other times he gets sent off or has strops. I don't mind inconsistent wingers. That used to be s good wingers trademark. Most players you would actually pay to watch are the inconsistent Mavericks and have always been.
