He was top of the chances made list 3 months after he was injured.

People like to hate on him cos we paid 25m, he has pace, he makes things happen, he will be a very welcome return.

Bolasie, Barkley and Coleman, fate couldnt have picked 3 worse players to be injured for us, none of these players we had replacements for and all 3 will MASSIVELY improve us on their return.

Why don’t Everton fans appreciate players who actually try to make things happen?

Technically Coleman was replaced by 2 right backs

To be fair the club did replace them all, lookman Martina and half the summer signings . Quality issue is another debate but we did replace them. Part of the issue this season is that we never replaced anyone that wasn't injured.......

I don't think anyone we brought in was meant to 'replace' Coleman - Martina was just cover for defensive positions. Having Seamie back will be an enormous boost.

It does seem like Klaassen was meant to replace Barkley though... that worked out well

Very interested to know the names of the 4 players we replaced Ross Barkley with, I wont accept Rooney, Sandro, Klaassen or Vlasic, Iceland is of course a number 10, but hes a poor mans Ross Barkley and not even close to a replacement.

Klassen siggurdson vlasic Rooney all technically play the same position as Barkley.

Martina was cover/replacement for Coleman as he was cheap and was happy to be dropped once Coleman was fit.

Losing bolasie we gained lookman not long after and Lennon coming back was another winger technically.

What I mean is it was the centre halves, the striker , the left back that we needed to be bringing in and instead 5 of the 8 or so players were just cover/replacements for the injured players as lookman was earlier

Martina did replace coleman. As I said above Martina was signed because he was happy to step aside when Coleman was fit. But he was the cover to come in.

The 4 you list are Barkley replacements as they all play similar roles and the club did have all the intention in the world of selling Barkley in the summer, so replacements they were.

But if you mean out and out replacements then it becomes a bit of a hypocritical comment. Because to truly replace them in the team means they then become second choice , cover is a different thing entirely. So if we were replacing them in any way then they wouldn't be so important to the first team. If they are covered , e.g. Martina then that means they are.

Davy Klaassen is a number 8, Rooney is a number 9, they can all play at 10, but are not on the same level as Barkley.
