So what you're saying is, it's his job to aimless hoof it into a general vicinity in the faint hope someone will get onto the end of it?
It's not aimless if he is putting it in the box.....job done and over to the striker and other players to be there for them. When a winger gets the ball the striker and midfielders should be busting a gut to get level or slightly ahead of him expected the cross. That is how it works. Winger is also not solely about crossing but cutting inside to bring the on coming players into play.....he did that quite a few times against Liverpool.
