I wonder would there be the same outcry if someone made up a song about Seamus being a drunk or calling him "paddy"?

I seriously doubt it. It seems there is a hierarchy of racism. Against black people is complete unacceptable (currently); againt muslims and Irish is just "frowned upon".

Quite often there have been nasty posts on GOT that have used stereotypical language regarding Ireland and Irish.

My attitude is usually to ignore these as I do not want to provide oxygen to fan flames or to bring more attention to a particularly idiotic post.

It's casual racism mate whether you like it or not. Your utter ignorance here is mad and calling Kick it Out 'tramps' and 'offered by everything' kinda says a lot about your views.
No it’s not. How is a song which suggests that a specific person has a large penis racist? I can only assume you have created a new definition of racism. Can you please share your definition of racism, I would like to compare it to the official definition of the word.

Goodness. You've been shown why people believe it is, and have chosen to not look or ignore it. Wilful ignorance is still ignorance.

Fairly sure quite a few of the 'Kick it out' members are black... and as far as i can see they have been the most vocal critics of both this and Lukaku's case.
Fair enough, but as far as I can see, the most vocal critics have been white people being offended on black peoples behalf.
Are you able to explain why suggesting that he has a large penis can be offensive?

Everyone was loving it on here when it was posted.

Now it's been decided it is racial stereotyping everyone is a social justice warrior and it was only enjoyed by the narrow minded.

Do you have any actual evidence that the people criticising in this thread are the same people who were loving it in the other thread ? If not you have literally no point whatsoever.

Bruce Wayne and a few other posters have explained why it could be viewed as racist, go back to page 160 or so.

Rappers such as Kendrick Lamar have also addressed these types of racial stereotypes in their songs, so it definitely isn't something that only offends white people.

Having said that, what's more important to try and debunk is the idea that the negative stereotypes surrounding scousers as workshy and unemployed have had anywhere near the negative impact that overly sexualising black men has had. I am aware it all sounds a bit mad; after all, it sounds like positive discrimination really! But if you look into the history of that imagery, you'll find some really sinister stuff.

The concept has its origin in white slave owners, who tried to legitimise their ownership of African slaves by painting them as animalistic and savage, and thus there was a moral duty for white people to be stewards over black people. You might be familiar with this concept through 'The White Man's Burden.' A few choice quotes lifted from a 1944 paper covering this: 'N****** in all the passions, emotions, and ambitions, are almost wholly subservient to the sexual instinct." I don't want to go too much into this quite frankly, as let's be honest, I'm not about to get a bunch of wools to whip out their own copy of 'Black Skins, White Masks'. Having said that though, in the logic of racism, even 'racial virtue' can be twisted into a vice. Something that might seem a 'good' stereotype can be shown to be some ideal gone wrong, and the way in which black men have historically been associated with imagery of r*ping white women is just one observable element of this.

So how about them tricky blues? Probably get bounced at the weekend but that Tottenham backline has a mistake in it, I'm telling you now

I guess the point I take from this is never click on posts by people you have already ignored.

So no evidence then.

Haha no Sherlock, I haven't gathered data and opinions from the whole forum in order to produce a forensically precise statistical post.

Please consult with @mattdamon to produce a presentation with pie charts and interesting fonts, I'm sure we will all be enthralled by your diligence.

Well you must have mentally collected some data otherwise how could you possibly know that people went from loving it to hating it ? truth is the people who loved it probably still love it and the people criticising it probably never loved it in the first place despite your insistence that everyone loved it.

Ok, I feel there may be a thread ban coming on because of this, so out of respect I will not discuss further after this post. I suppose my main gripe is that anyone can call “racism”or “offensive” without justification, and when people ask why something is offensive they just get attacked rather than educated because the ”offended” are aware that they are mostly being offended on behalf of someone that is not really offended. (Unless you have evidence that Mina is offended by being accused of having a large penis, in which case I will offer my humblest apologies)

But hey, servience is easier than debate. And that is what we have just created. One nil for the man.
