Under a top coach he could become a rock at the back.

I fear like Stones his development hinges on the manager - sadly like Stones at us under RM I fear he'll be suspect at times and eventually leave to progress and develop under a competent defensive coach.

Yes, what an utter failure Martinez was taking Stones from a 3m defender to a 45m defender in 2 seasons. And how awful is it that Stones wanted to play for the best manager in the world.

Come the end of his time at EFC Stones had an uneasy relationship with our fans thanks to El Fraudo's insistence that he divy around with it at the back.

Irrelevant what you think and irrelevant what happened with the fans
Facts:
He signed for 3m
He was sold for 45m
Martinez aided his development in bringing the ball out (divying around at the back) as he only played under Martinez
He was bought by Guardiola
Guardiola is THE manager in world football for playing from the back.
Guardiola, with unlimited resources, bought John Stones.

Finally:

This has got nothing to do with Yerry Mina. I agree with you that he could end up a rock. Needs time and patience.
