Are you still crying??

If he does well, we improve, get a belter player and sell for 60 million.

Get a grip.

What barca paid for him is irrelivant, they agreed that fee almost a year before they even got him. He has been beasting every level he has played for a long time.

Belter players cost more than 60m tho so we would still be getting shafted. Keanes romoured to be 50m ffs lol

If Yerry Mina gets fit and plays more like Jags or Distin in their prime it'll be amazing. We need a settled defensive pair for 2 -3 years. Holgate - Mina would be my choice if they can play well and improve. I think next year is too early for that pairing though. Maybe Keane-Holgate-Mina next year and the year after Keane goes to Man U for £89m LOL

Holgate isn’t that good. Blue tinted glasses based on not much. Bloke got roasted against Leeds.

Wouldn’t even make the bench.

not even a good back up? He did look good in places, and I think if he maybe had the same bulking up plan that DCL had last Summer he might get better. Koscielny, amongst modern defenders is an example of someone very good but not very powerfully well built, so he could do well on that front if he's quick and a good tackler

I dont even think he (Holgate) is good enough for backup, like Besic these players look good in the championship because they are that standard

Isn't Holgate supposed to be getting rave reviews at WBA ? He's got the speed and the technical ability to be a ball playing centre half, he just needs to bulk up a bit to be able to do the physical part. Good prospect in my view.

Yeah he seems to be playing very well there, but its not against Premier League opposition

Ideally you don't want players who are good enough to be "back up."

You want it so that none of your players make your heart sink if you see them in the starting line up. Of course there'll always be players who are better than others but I've never understood it when people advocate for us buying someone as a back up.

Holgate for me is fine as a right back. If he had to start him at centre-back for two months though due to injury I'd be worried.
