Carlo will need to make the de ision during the summer. This lad is a tip 5 player when he is on form and plays with aggression. The quality of player we need. But muscle problems seem to plague his career. Does carlo move him on to be replaced by a starting central defender or try to sort these muscle problems.

He is a better player than keane and if remained fit, himself and godfrey have the potential to be a top 4 centre back partnership.

Shame he is so fragile. Holgate is no substitute for him. Needs thinking about next season if he is not likely to withstand the strain of playing each week.

Moving him on and replacing him is a big priority this summer.

Has a groin made of tofu.
When people make the same suggestion about Rodriguez due to his injuries in his thread, they are shot down, just because he’s a really good footballer (when fit).
The Colombian experiment is failing, we need functioning footballers.

Rodriguez is what he is - before signing him I was saying if he's fit for 75% of games then we'd do well. If he didn't have problems with fitness, he wouldn't be coming to Everton on a free transfer. His signing has been a success, so far, IMO.

Mina is different for me. He's a centre half, and you need some continuity there. Besides, I don't think he's the best anyway - prone to attacking possession/unsettling the back four. I just don't really rate him - I'd have him starting at the moment because Holgate has been woeful this season, but I think we need another centre half coming in and all considered, particularly fitness and the need for continuity, I'd like to see Everton try and move him on.

Our back 4 only ever looks settled when he’s in it??

As I said, "I'd have him starting at the moment"

But we need better if we want to really compete. Better, and more reliable.

I also think of the bigger games we've won this season, games like Liverpool and Arsenal away - big wins with clean sheets - both without Mina.

We need a senior, reliable centre half.

I don't think we've got one.

You then work out who needs to go...

Keane has had his best season for us, but I think he's a bit passive/not really your lead centre half. I prefer him to Mina.

Holgate, I don't want to do the football fan thing of writing him off so quick - he's been terrible this season - last season he was the players player of the season and young player of the season - rightly so. See how he goes next season.

Do we have anyone who'd really help bring on the games of the likes of Godfrey and Branthwaite? I'm not convinced we do.

We certainly need a centre half of the quality of Mina that can actually stay fit, I agree.
