Holgate has done terrific, it might be a situation where each CB has to be patient and grasp their chance when it arises. It’s a situation we want, but I think he’ll be very keen to get Godfrey into that side in the hope he really provides what we lack.

Holgate if fit comes straight back but should be partnered with Keane. Keane has been superb and doesn't lose his spot. Holgate is the whole package and can see no issue with him a Godfrey in a couple years being the first choice pairing. Godfrey can deputise RB and CB so will get plenty game time.
 
Dangly leg for the second was ridiculous. Looking forward to Holgate being back in all honesty. Mina looks like he's a microsecond away from disaster a most of the time. He's third choice cb for sure. Will maybe even end up 4th choice if Godfrey can keep playing like that and Christ alive He's got a turn of pace.

Doesn’t seem like it will be for a while. Mina has everything to be a top centreback but doesn’t seem to have ‘it’ positionally. Whereas Keane doesn’t have Mina’s pace or height yet seemed to get himself in all the right places to snuff out Liverpool’s attacks. Holgate and Keane may end up being Carlo’s go to pairing unless Mina improves.
 
Not his best of games today and his clearance just before Salahs goal was shocking but I still think he’s a good useful player.... keep the faith

...whoever preforms best will play CB. Godfrey has not been brought in to be Holgate‘s back-up, he’s been brought in to compete for a place.
