90+ % of the time he’s great. If he could just get rid of those daft lapses in concentration and sometimes be a little less rash with his decision making he’s got the makings of a top centre half. They do let him down at the moment though.

Then he would not have come to us in the first place....

Dunno I feel like I’m the only one who seemingly doesn’t cack themselves when he’s on the ball, probably because he doesn’t ever give possession away or get dispossessed, but everyone else seems to view him as shaky and error-prone. Weird.
I don't think he's shaky or error prone but I can see why people worry when he's on the ball. He has weird technique, it looks like he gets his body into the wrong position quite a lot, and so you fear the worst. Now that he's been here longer and hasn't made loads of errors on the ball I don't get heebie jeebies from him, but it takes some getting used to because instinctively some of the things he does just look wrong. The poor technique does catch him out occasionally, he does have a habit of not clearing the ball very far when under pressure because of it etc, but it's not as big a deal as I thought it might be early on.

Well, you are pointing out his weakness.....so if he had NO weakness, he would not have been sold by Barcelona....or maybe a bigger club would have come for him ???!!
Well no, he does have other weaknesses too like. I'm not saying he'd be the world's greatest player if he didn't do that, just that there wouldn't necessarily be any debate about whether he would be a guaranteed starter for a team which most recently finished 12th in the PL, which clearly there is at the moment. It also isn't taking into account the fact that he might have improved over the last 3 years. So again, not really sure how you came to that conclusion but OK.

Think he has benefitted massively from having a decent run in the side, still makes the occasional error like last night which gets highlighted more as it was punished and made a rash challenge on the edge of the box, but by and large he has been excellent as have most of the defenders since Holgate and Godfrey have come onto the equation.

We really do have a problem of the good kind at centre back.
Holgate, Mina, Keane,Godfrey and Branthwaite out on loan.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Barca had money they would exercise their buy back option for Mina and I still would not rule it out completely if they find some kind of financial solution to their problems.

I thought Mina was poor at the start of the season but he has improved enormously, looks a total bargain for the price we paid as does Michael Keane.
I have not recently heard calls about Iwobi being a waste of money , Gomes coming back to form and Gylfi scoring and dominating their main playmaker out of the game..... common denominator...Carlo Ancelotti.

I think we all know why it is.

Holgate is not strong enough in the air to be a central defender.

Mina has never been poor and was a clever signing especially after his stand-out performances in the World Cup.
