Don’t really understand the clamour to sell him.

I’d much rather him playing 20 odd games a season than getting rid of him completely. He’s not the issue at centre back.
We can't factor in the effect his stop/start playing has on the rest of the defence. Especially as he is the best defender we have, then it seems reasonable to expect the manager will try to play him when he's available. So when he's in the team one week and out the next, its difficult to get any consistency or understanding going between the others. We don't have enough quality defenders to pay this lazy sod thousands of pounds a week to play half of the games and if we could sell him to some other mug to finance the purchase of someone more reliable then all the better.

What a weird comment. He’s done his quad because he’s lazy ?

TBH I think after this latest injury the question of selling him in the summer is probably moot- with the wages he’s on v his injury record I’m not sure we could give him away let alone get a decent fee. I’m not sure any club would view him as worth the risk.

Most likely scenario is we try to milk what we can from him next season then he leaves at the end of his contract.

Centre half is about partnerships and we can't build one while he cant' stay fit. We aren't even getting 20 games off him. The injuries are getting worse, not better, and that is unlikely to change over time.

He's coming into the last year of a contract and is a very high earner. Keeping him makes no logical sense. Why would we let him go for free when we can get some sort of fee.

Tuesday was the point where we should draw a line and move on from him.

But it's wages we can invest in someone that can actually play 2 games in a row.

Yes but this isn’t football manager where you just sell players and guaranteed replace them with somebody better who’ll play 38 games a season.

He played 29 games last season, he’s not Gbamin. You need a good centre half on the bench as well as starting so replacing Holgate or Keane would make a lot more sense.

How much do you think Mina is on ?
