2021/22 Yerry Mina

He’s already played 9 league games, last season he played 29 and 24 before that.

Not sure why people are acting like he hardly plays.
He's completed 90 minutes eight times in the last 12 months. That's 39 league games and eight times we've got 90 minutes out of him. He's supposedly on £120k a week, that very much is breaking the bank.

Centre half is about partnerships and we can't build one while he cant' stay fit. We aren't even getting 20 games off him. The injuries are getting worse, not better, and that is unlikely to change over time.

He's coming into the last year of a contract and is a very high earner. Keeping him makes no logical sense. Why would we let him go for free when we can get some sort of fee.

Tuesday was the point where we should draw a line and move on from him.

Who’s going to buy him and pay his apparently high wages if he’s a sick note ?

Wouldn’t make sense for him anyway he might as well run down his contract.

Was injured when we signed him. As was Gomes. Allan had 5 different injuries in the season before we bought him. Delph consistently missed games for City.

We’ve had bad luck with injuries but we were building on sand.
Considering our track record, I'd be stunned if we did a medical for any of them. Not hyperbole or exaggeration either, it's on the record Iwobi was signed without one on Arsenals word. It's reported we had a last minute dash around barca to find a solicitor to ratify the contracts so what are the chances we had satisfactory medicals for them if we never even had a solicitor

Nailed it.

I like Yerry, but if he can't stay fit for most of the season then he just needs to go.

The back 4 is the area of the pitch that you absolutely need to build consistency with otherwise you're in trouble. When our best CB is in-and-out of the team it does more harm than good and that's the major issue..

And pay him 120k a week ? Who?

Someone will take him because he can be good. They will take at punt if he's available for like 7 or 8m. Unfortunately I'm not a prophet so can't give you a name of a club.

But it's not a debate for me. It's completely irrational to want to keep a player who is totally unreliable with availability.

He played 90 minutes 20 times last season.

No club is going to swap three centre halves in one transfer window so if Mina goes that means you are almost certainly keeping Keane and probably Holgate.

How getting rid of the best CB you have even if he only plays half of the total minutes is a good solution to our defensive issues I don’t know.

Yes but this isn’t football manager where you just sell players and guaranteed replace them with somebody better who’ll play 38 games a season.

He played 29 games last season, he’s not Gbamin. You need a good centre half on the bench as well as starting so replacing Holgate or Keane would make a lot more sense.

How much do you think Mina is on ?

I am very confident we don't require a computer game to go out and sign a reliable centre half in the Summer.

Every article on line puts him at £100k+ per week,
