I was only a few rows back, directly behind the goal, looking at the game through the net. From that vantage I was amazed by how much he cleans up, because of his height and also his ability to cover ground. If you drew a sphere around each defender to demarcate the balls he could get to, his would be 3x the size of Holgate's, for example.

If he could only stay healthy...
 
To be honest he looks like a lad that wants to act the maggot for his final season, he is needing sold while we still can. I bet he can't wait until January when he can start looking for his last big payday.

This is harsh, I’d say. He looked woeful but wasn’t the worst on the pitch.

He combined having a poor game with being put under ridiculous pressure because we had a hologram at left back and no midfield. I wouldn’t question his attitude just yet.

Hopefully your right but think he needs to be gone before he runs his contract down. Can't be flogging 120k on a player that will at best play 20 odd games.... I prefer him over Holgate, Keane and Godfrey but don't see a future for him.

I think he is our best CB. But he is on his last year of contract. I'm not sure we would extend his contract unless he stays fit for 30 games minimum.
A new CB is needed but I doubt we'll sign anyone unless we move someone on.

If we move him on, that would also be my expectation. Probably a loan deal, then repatriate Branthwaite and play him if his loan goes well.

Yep I’ve come back around again on this. Unless we get someone else in he stays 100%. Replacing him would be ideal but otherwise we can’t afford it.
