I feel the opposite is true:
Colombia didn't qualify for the WC so he'll probably lack the motivation to get fully fit before november.
I'm not convinced.

South Americans put national team football way, way beyond club football. He'd likely be 'saving himself' more then he usually does rather than risk being injured for the World Cup.

He very rarely starts and then when he does he's quite regularly cry off within the hour with some sort of twinge.

I'd take a box of curly wurly for him if I'm honest, they're probably more robust.

I think the club would probably be happy to keep him but he wants to try something different.

The up side of that for the club is that it will generate some transfer money and make a big savings on salary.

On the whole it's best to move him on for a fee and saving wages. But that's tempered by being able to use the money. It's not clear that it would be.

The squad is top heavy for centre backs. I guess that as no one is likely to come in for Kean or Holgate, Mina would be allowed to leave if an offer came in. Is it worth keeping him anyway now we have just signed a defender who will hopefully play/be available most matches? Now we can give Mina rests and take better care of him.

My view is unless we get a decent offer, for him we should keep him at least until January, if we aren't offering him a new contract (which we'd be mad to do, given his injury record last season).

Surely if we're open to selling, it has to be now, not January. With 6 months left on his deal, he might as well sit tight for half a season then go as a free agent to get the maximum wage/signing bonus for his last big deal.

Plus what would we even get for him in January? Few million quid maybe?

he's going to run his contract down so he gets a huge sign on bonus at his next club probably
That’s the trend now with players. Instead of the selling club getting a large transfer fee for the player. The player pretty much gets the fee for himself and his agent in terms of a sign on fee. Expect more players to be doing this.
