Bored of injuries now, absolute joke. Soz to the Colombian bluenoses but all internationals need lashing, they're an absolute waste of time, and the football is crap and boring.

Good to know the curse is still well and truly in place- If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have bugger all luck at all.

He may have had injuries in the past but this seems silly to judge him by. He's played three matches in a week - all 0-0 ties where he's had to play with intensity till they final whistle and the last match went 105 minutes because of awful refereeing. How can anyone be surprised he is having muscle issues after that?

The issue is FIFA scheduling here, not Yerry. His CB partner, Carlos Cuesta, who played the same minutes pulled his hamstring in Genk's Europa league match yesterday.

It just stinks because he's been in fantastic form for club and country.

He's come back injured from international games. Everton pay his wages. Colombia surely have other CBs.

If Colombia had to play all of their qualifying matches in the summer, and therefore had to deal with the consequences of an injury in a meaningful way. I'd imagine they'd take better care of him.

Spreading the fixtures throughout the calendar creates a huge incentive compatibility problem - if you break the player for three or four weeks, it's someone else's problem. The only way to have any power over that process as constituted is to have enough players on a given international team that you can threaten to hold them all out if they aren't rotated.

This is why some of the big English clubs, Barca, Madrid and Bayern have some clout. If you're supplying half of the starting XI plus some backups, you can shaft them pretty good, which means that they have to take some care with your players.

29 games last season and 33 games the season before.

6 this season and it seems that hes out as a precaution.

The issue we have isnt Mina's fitness...its not having a quality replacement for him.

We should have Godfrey + Holgate for one spot and then Mina and Keane competing for the other.

Theres a huge drop off in quality and we need to bring in a centre back to push Godfrey and Mina.

Yup, and somehow offload one of Holgate or Keane. But can't see any takers for either, unfortunately, which means there is no for another centre back to come in, especially with Branthwaite also in the squad.

Mad the way we just bend over for international teams and let them flog our best players. Big Red withdraw theirs all the time, I’m not sure Salah ever plays for Egypt outside of tournaments and some qualifying games. Plays about 5 international games a year, ours are getting through 3 in a fortnight every other month.

Probably more chance with Holgate, couple of years younger, slightly less wages although he probably would only get a regular place in a Championship side but don't think his ego would take it as he gets upset if anyone mentions Championship level also he would have to take a huge drop in wages, bonus would be he would play every week and be a possible Captain

First, I just dont buy the claim that Mina has no deputies in the whole of Colombia who can share the workload. I just cant believe that.

Second, I think the player is one who really wants to be back home playing for his country. But he has responsibilities also to the club who pay his wages.

No one is suggesting they stop playing internationals, just that there's some common sense applied.

This has already cost us points: if Mina played against WHU there's no chance they get that cheap headed goal last Sunday.
