Mina hasn't played a friendly for Colombia in eternity (they haven't played any due to COVID). These are all WC qualifying matches and they are all grueling in South America. There are no Macedonia's or Faroe Islands... Even when you play away at Bolivia or Ecuador you are at crazy altitudes where half your team is dizzy from the opening whistle. It's absolutely brutal.

Mina got red carded early against Uruguay and missed Ecuador away last year - they are the only matches Colombia has lost in qualifying (10 fixtures in) and he's played pretty much every minute he's been available since.

maybe maybe not, but one thing with Yerry is he wont get bullied by a centre forward like Keane and Godfrey today. Plus he wont disappear in the penalty area like Keane when we have to defend a set piece

Yes.

But, the defence didn't look this shambolic last season when Mina wasn't in it.

There's been loads of wham chatted about how Benitez has us organised. We aren't organised at all.

Mina also makes the player next to him look better. Because he is a leader, he shouts and organise the defence. And yes he loves a fight with a striker never hides.
