We’d have gone down without his little cameo at the end of last season, no doubt. And I think we will go down next season unless we add another top quality centre half to our current championship standard defence!

I get the clamour for a striker, but the need to strengthen our defence is just as, if not more, important.

Our current defence will take us down even with Tarkowski playing every game, but if something happened to him, our defence would go from championship standard to League One standard, and we will get battered every game! We badly need a new centre half!

Defo need defensive improvements but we shouldn’t underestimate how toothless we were for the majority of last season and how that affected how other teams approached our games.
Everyone knew they only really needed to score 1 to guarantee points - more often all 3 than not.
We weren’t the worst for goals conceded last season, and as above when considering opponents could attack with little fear of us scoring I don’t think 8th worst is that bad.

For context I think we were 2nd from last for goals scored.

He's very tall and thin and that build doesn't work as a central defender in the Premier League. He's got some great qualities but he will struggle to stay fit dealing with all the knocks in the box...

But another way to look at it is if he had availed himself more frequently, those 4 games may not have been quite so crucial.
Can’t be considered a bit of a hero when his absence likely cost us earlier in the season.
Of course there’s the argument that he can’t help his injuries, but then there’s the counter that how much of his absence was injury and how much was him deciding he wasn’t fit .
His closeness to Baron Samedi when he was in charge of medical suggests to me there was an element of mentality involved.

He’s no hero at all and I’m glad to see the back of him how he gets honorary mentions on here is beyond me he robbed us of serious money I’d imagine somewhere in the region of £50 plus million great job yerry thanks mate.
