2022/23 Yerry Mina

I think Yerry now gets a chance at a proper full recovery. He clearly needs an eternity to recover from any injury he gets & before we have always wanted him back asap because we were better with him.
I do think he's lost his place now though as an automatic pick when fit. He brings instability when what we need is stability & hopefully the back 4 recently used is the new norm for us.
If he's offered a new deal then there should be some sort of a pay as you play structure built in to it on top of a much much lower basic weekly wage as he or his agent couldn't even try to justify his current wages to any top flight club in Europe if he does leave.
I like Yerry. I like him around the squad & there is a good player in him so it's hard to let a good player leave. Having said that i would not be upset if the club decided not to continue with his services.

Can’t offer him a new deal which pains me because he’s world class with a fantastic attitude when fit.

But he’s never fit snd it becomes unfair to players who perform well when he’s out.
I'd loan him out in January as nobody will buy him and he's probably become a liability to the other players at the club who are likely sick of seeing him injury himself by breathing and laughing his arse off while lay in the physio's room for months on end. Then it's goodbye in the summer.

Yeah, the problem is he had a proper recovery period, a full pre-season where he didn’t seem to have any issues, and he still picked up a serious injury in his second half of competitive football.

I guess there’s one more chance to come back and stay fit post World Cup, but by now I think they will already be looking at a defensive depth chart as if he isn’t on it, the disruption of having him come in then disappear again hardly feels worth it.

No idea what happens to his career after this season. No chance of a contract anywhere near his current wage, here or elsewhere. Just need to look at another injury prone player in Delph, no takers at all as a free agent. Only 27 too which is a real shame, maybe he needs to go to a soft, slow league in the desert or somewhere and try to build back that way.

If he was happy to reduce his wages, I’d desperately want to keep him. With Tark & Coady I feel we can cover his injury issues. Get 15+ games out of him and we could have one of the stronger defences in the league.
Agree, if he is up for reducing his wages to £40k every full 90mins he plays then i would love to keep him.
Other than that he is of no benefit to us.
