Because Keane is rapid???

He's quicker than Mina and Mina hasn't started a first team match for like half a season. Was never going to play this one with so much at stake. He may get a game vs City though as is almost a free hit..

I just don't get his continued non selection.

I appreciate that you aren't going to build a team around him because of his injury record and that he will be out of contract in the summer.

However everything is needs must at the moment - we wouldn't have gone for Dyche otherwise.

No one is telling me that if he is fit that hes not better than Keane , Godfrey, Holgate or Coady.

If he's not fit or as the conspiracy theorists say he won't play because that might risk injury and affect a move then don't have him on the bench and don't have him train because such an attitude would undoubtedly adversely affect squad morale

So, I can only conclude that Dyche genuinely thinks that Keane is a better centre half , in which case he's an even worse judge of a player than I thought.

I find it very strange how he's seemingly not signed a contract with a new team already. I figured as soon as he hit six months left on his contract with us he'd very shortly thereafter be snapped up by some Spanish or Italian team, but maybe his salary demand is simply too high.

I'm definitely not an advocate of Mina because he isn't reliable. However I agree with you completely. The time for building solid foundations and partnerships is not now. Right now we need the best possible players we have available starting. And Mina is one of them. I just feel Dyche is being stubborn and sticking with Keane and Tarkowski as he knows there attributes better.
I think back to Spurs and King, I'm not saying its exactly the same as it was a different time and King was almost freakish in how good he was without even training, however he was always a risk when he played but when he was available he absolutely started.

Mina is our best centre half and needs absolutely must.

Yup, I think Mina is a disgrace. But I also think he is a better player than Godfrey or Holgate. Or Keane. In one way, I admire Dyche's bloody-mindedness for deciding he can't rely on such a "fragile" charlatan. In another, I wonder how he can dismiss one charlatan yet remain open to playing others. The truth is: NONE of these players are worthy of our shirt - but if we have to pick one, which we do right now, then Yerry is the man. If only to see him go down and limp off after 37 minutes one final time.
