Young EFC Players Out On Loan 16-17

Doncaster fan here, Conor Grant has rejoined us on loan. Couldn't be happier, might not make it with you but he's easily the best player in league two
Tbh, I'm surprised he has dropped that far down but it may be that he wants to build his career with a decent club that knows him and his strengths. All the best to him, always liked him but never quite had enough to break through.

Russell Griffiths recalled from loan at Cheltenham (presumably as cover for Robles?).

I presume Luke Garbutt has also returned since his loan was only until January originally?

I saw something that Cheltenham had brought in a Wycombe GK on loan . The context was that Wycombe had brought in in or extended the long an of a GK from Chelsea so were sending this guy to Cheltenham for game time, but I noticed Griffiths played today.

I'm not sure about Garbutt, I thought all loans under the new scheme were a season long unless they're brought back, but to be honest it's so messy I haven't a clue as to these new rules.

Premier League
Brendan Galloway was unused sub for WBA

Championship
Luke Garbutt was not in matchday squad for Wigan Athletic

Division Two
Cheltenham Town - Russell Griffiths played full match in 0-2 away defeat to Colchester United

OS Match Report
"It was the home side who had the first chance after one minute as Kurtis Guthrie won them a corner, but Chris Porter could only guide his header from the set piece straight at Russell Griffiths. On the 10 minute mark Colchester took the lead as a free kick on the left hand side was hit towards the back post, and Eastman was on hand to send a looping header over Griffiths and into the far corner."
"Five minutes before half time the ball broke to Porter just inside the box, but even though he had plenty of space he wasn’t able to shoot anywhere other than straight at Griffiths so it remained 1-0 to Colchester at the break."
"It was then the home side’s turn to have a spell of pressure and it took an acrobatic save from Griffiths and a clearance off the line from Jordan Cranston to keep Cheltenham in the game."

Russell Griffiths Recalled By Everton

Doncaster Rovers - Conor Grant played full match in 1-0 home win over Stevenage Town

OS Match Report
"Rovers kicked off the day’s proceedings by announcing that the loan signing of Everton player Conor Grant, who was back for his second stint with the South Yorkshire side. He was included in Darren Ferguson’s starting XI and he was involved right from the get-go as he played a slick ball down Borough’s right flank which was duly picked up by Rowe."
"Rovers continued to dominate but could not find that decisive final pass, some lovely play from new signing Grant and youngster Harry Middleton almost broke the deadlock. Grant collected a throw in from Rowe, his inch-perfect touch took him round the Boro defence before laying the ball off to James Coppinger."
"Rovers had the final chance of the half and it fell to Grant once again, a well-worked move down the middle of the field eventually fell to the loanee, but his outside of the foot effort was straight down the throat of Jones."
"Grant fired wide just after the hour mark as Rovers countered before Ferguson made his first change, introducing Andy Williams at the expense of Middleton."

Radio Sheffield - interview with Darren Ferguson says they will try to make move permanent in summer (ca. 4:30 into interview)

Good lad!

Scoring and getting stuck in!
Haha, no he was booked for being mobbed by his mates when he scored, ran to the crowd , everybody jumped on his back, puzzled look and expressive hands to ref when he's booked. There's a video somewhere of his goal, celebration and booking, probabaly on the Youth thread. He does seem to have bulked up a wee bit.

It looks like Doncaster v Portsmouth is on Sky Sports tomorrow night, Thursday, chance to see Grant if he plays.
I understand Donny made a bid to make take him on a permanent basis, this was apparently excepted by the club, but Grant wanted to see if he could have a chance back here next summer.
