Young EFC Players Out On Loan 17-18

With his pre season first team tour a few years ago and long lay off through injury it's easy to forget he's only just turned 20. He's always been a good attacking full back , I'm hoping this loan will require him to develop his defensive capabilities. It's a tough call , as a comparison both Garbutt and Galloway were getting first team action at around about his age but neither so far have kicked on, hopefully he will develop as we want him too. As his loan is only until January he's going to have to make an impact in the next few months.

bolton are so crap i'd be disappointed if he wasnt a regular starter soon

Had a look at their forums. Very little comment but mainly positive. One saying he is clearly better than some other player who is presumably the incumbent left back. Another saying he should start Friday.

Early days but if he can force his way into the team that's a start.

My concern is that Bolton are not a good team and I think will struggle in this league. Robinson is a very attack minded full back and struggling teams tend to go very defensive. So he may find game time hard to come by as the season progresses.

Saw Boltons first game of the season v Leeds. Their LB is a donkey but very physical. Probably fits more with how Bolton play. Would hope Robinson could get a fair few games though.

So far he's started the two league cup games but hasn't got a minute in the league. Still early days though.

EFL Carabao Cup
Nottingham Forest - Kieran Dowell started and was substituted in the 62nd minute of 3-2 away win over Newcastle United

No particular fan comments about Dowell apart from some saying he was subbed to save him for the weekend. (Match wasn't televised so possibly a bit early for anyone who was at the game.)

Waw; poor RSCA. They've drawn PSG and Bayern Munchen. Hope the team gets on the rails soon, because how they are playing at the moment it's going to be a very painful spectacle. They have to step up. Onyekuru will be playing some interesting matches though.

Haha yeah, people are happy with Celtic though; nice traditional club with good support.

With last year's team I would have said no problem, but the current RSCA team is all over the place.

Onyekuru is happy though:

"Vorig seizoen toonde Celtic nog interesse in mij, het is dus heel leuk om nu tegen hen te moeten spelen", glundert Onyekuru, "Tijdens vorige winterstage met Eupen heb ik al tegen Bayern gespeeld. Hoe dan ook, dit is een droom die uitkomt. Ze lachten met mij toen ik vorig seizoen zei dat ik Champions League zou spelen, en zie nu. Ik tel de dagen af tot het zover is."

Very short translation: I am very happy to play Celtic because they were interested in me last season. I already played Bayern with Eupen, during the winter-break. Last season they were laughing at me when I said that I would be playing in the CL, and look now, I am playing in the CL : a dream come true. I am counting the days until the first CL game.

Youngest son is a Celtic supporter, don't ask, and he reckons they can get the third spot and Europa league. Celtic Park on a European night is spectacular, Oneyekuru will enjoy himself, great experience for the youngster if he gets good game time in the six games.

I hope the Daily Record does the Anderlecht scouting:

Non of the star players they are listing are actual star players, it's like they didn't even google. Thelin (spends his time on the bench most of the time, probably will leave because a new striker will arrive), Harbaoui (hasn't played for RSCA's first team for 1.5 seasons and they are trying to get rid), Chipciu (no).

Haha, the Daily Record used to be referred to as the Daily Ranger because of its bias, and they're unlikely to get anything in depth and accurate on Celtic . Mind you it's a bit like the opposing views on the Liverpool Echo as to who they are biased against. One thing for sure , they don't do much research on teams outside Glasgow let alone anything outside Scotland so your comments on their accuracy doesnt come as much of a surprise!

Do they even have any star players left though?

Well for now:

Dendoncker (but in his mind he's gone already, so no real use until at least the transfer period is over)
Spajić/Kara (even though I am not a big fan of the latter but a lot of other people seem to be fans)
Najar (but always injured ...)
Hanni

The problem is the attack is weak atm. Onyekuru is steadily improving but don't know if he'll be ready in time. Hope they are in somewhat decent shape before the Celtic games; the PSG and Bayern games are quite irrelevant.

It's a transitional year, between major talents. Happened before. Like the time between Kompany, VDB, Lukaku, Praet, Tielemans, Dendoncker ... It's a cycle, always difficult when one of them leaves (especially Tielemans very big loss because he made the team tick).

Teodorczyck is horrible atm. It's so bad that it physically hurts to watch him. The problem is they've given him a really big contract and he has no intent of leaving. That's why atm, there's a frantic search for a new striker taking place - same problem as Everton decent strikers are in short supply and very expensive. The trainer wants a big targetman up front who can play pressing. It looks like they'll take a punt on Robert Berić but that will be real gamble. He was very good before his injury but since then he hasn't done mutch, I think they believe they can resurrect him.
