Great quote that will further endear him to their fans. When he came back from one of his injuries about this time last year he looked like he’d developed a degree more skill playing a more forward role. He’s been so unlucky with injuries though , missing out on more England U20s appearances , then getting onto our bench but not playing, it would be tempting to look at Beni and think “ Could have been me.” It’ll be interesting to see just how far he will develop this season , good luck to him.
Very true. The same can be said of Liam Walsh who has been equally unlucky with injuries. At least Joe is getting regular game time at Barnsley and, importantly, making a go of it. Have you heard anything at all about Walsh at Birmingham?. Is he injured or just not getting a look in? I know he had a few injury issues (and no pre-season) before joining up with them.Great quote that will further endear him to their fans. I like Barnsley as a club and they do have a decent youth culture there too. I've advocated in the past the possibility of utilising them as a feeder club for our better younger players getting first team experience at an earlier age. No idea how feasible this is but if we throw enough money their way I'm sure we could make it work. There's already a good relationship between the clubs. One problem is Barnsley maintaining their championship status.I know a few Barnsley lads through Uni and Twitter and they love him for the same reason anyone whose ever seen him play for our youth sides do; he's combative but plays good football, he's not a yard dog - he just loves a good tackle.
Going there is probably the best move possible. I think he's played every game, if not the majority of them since joining and their gaffer - 'Hecky' - wants them to play good stuff but fight too and it's a young squad so he's not being left out for older players or anything like that. Genuinely seems like the perfect loan move.
And I've only heard positive things about him coming from there. Though, I hope not too positive going forward as I want him back and trotting out for us in the near future.

Don't think they did too badly out of Stones and remains to be seen what happens with Holgate.Yeah, I've had the same idea in the past but they always shoot me down because we'll probably take their newest youth prospect!
