Sounds like dowell having another great game.
He's the player that underlines our crap management to a tee. No long term planning whatsoever with our transfers and that alone should see Walsh get his p45.
Whoever comes in has to be good at integrating and developing young players cos thats all we have going for us at the minute.

I think the loan for Dowell has been exactly what he needed at this stage so wouldn't call that bad management, however, I would agree that the number of senior players in his position blocks his path to the first team.

That was my point, the loan is perfect and hopefully next season he'd be ready for our 1st team squad but when he gets back he has at least 3 players in his way, 2 of them cost 70m that would have been better spent on a striker and central defender.
Rank bad management

Reckon Dowell is one of them where his goals/assists delude people in to thinking he's better than he is. Might sound a daft comment but the Forest Forum reckons he's had some great moments like his recent hat-trick, which we're all aware that he is capable of, but quite often he's not strong enough and drifts in and out of games. He isn't what we need at the moment. A weaker version of Mirallas.

He's young and obviously talented but I think the spell at Forest will do both him and us good if he is to make it at Everton.

To make it for a top 7-8 side in the Premier League which is the minimum of our ambitions (obviously the current status changes that for the time being) you have to show consistency. I'm not convinced he's consistent enough yet and the jury is out on whether he will be in the future.

His recent form sounds promising though.

He's just turned 20. Only the likes of Messi are consistent at that age.

Just seen highlights from today's game, he won the ball on the half way line ,took the ball on and squared it for the opening goal. He looks to be growing into his frame. There's no doubt championship football will toughen him up.

Agree completely but just think calls of him needing to return might be premature and hearing that he has an assist or goal doesn't necessarily tell the full story.

I've not seen him play one minute for Forest so if he has been playing great consistently then i'm obviously wrong, but it didn't sound like he was from what I read on the Forest Forum. Sounded like he's made a positive contribution in a number of games but there are times when he could have done more.

The Championship is a whole different level to the Premier League as we all know.

...the key issue is the quality he offers. Inconsistent and drifts out of games but he has quality that only very good footballers have. It might be that you have to trade he’s not in the game for his ability to do something special. He delivers the most outstanding passes behind the back four. Really subtle.

Some might call him a luxury player, I think he’ll frustrate at times but when he’s on a football pitch you feel you have a chance. It’ll be a brave manager who throws him in but it’s risk/reward.
