The RSCA coach was in Extra Time yesterday (program similar to MOTD), he said Onyekuru only played +- 20 minutes because he wasn't focused/eager before the match (he has Nigeria duty, will probably get his first cap, and other things).

He also said (as did the previous RSCA coach) that Onyekuru doesn't have the feeling to play as a centre forward, or a supporting striker (both tried it). The last time was against Brugge but it failed again.

..I was just reading those reports from Belgium. Seems like he might take a bit of managing. I suppose his call up and debut for Nigeria will help overcome any work permit issues.

Yes if he becomes a regular and gets selected for the WC, he’ll get one for sure. Doesn’t change anything atm though since the Anderlecht coach again confirmed that there isn’t a call-back clause in the loan agreement that he knows off.

Usually if the club loaning pays a fee to obtain the player, there tends to be no clause to recall.

Yes he's got in because Vassell was injured against Villa. Boga from Chelsea has made a couple of sub appearances too but they are both big physical players. I've seen a fair bit of Walsh, including a game at Yeovil, and he's certainly not afraid of a battle but it seems their manager prefers mediocre grafters like David Davis and Kieftenbeld than an unproven youngster like Walsh. Seems ridiculous to us, which is why the rumour seems to have started that he was injured - he'll be back here in Jan unless he starts playing.
He's back already but under FA/PL rules he can't play for us until the New Year.

Thanks for that. Last season Galloway came back early and was allowed to play U23s football, so hopefully same for Walsh until January then review things.
That's correct. He will be playing for the U23s. Apparently B'ham can also call him back until then if they want him. Unlikely though.

anyone know what Callum Connnoly is up to? He was the other World Cup winning Evertonian but nobody talks about him and I noticed he's not in the squad.

Galloway and Browning were also getting selected more often before - looks like SUnderland was the wrong move for them sadly - I like them

Callum's on loan at Ipswich. Think he struggled initially - Mick McCarthy reckons he's only recently settled in and improved sufficiently in training to earn a recall to the side playing in midfield. That's part of Callum's problem: what is his best position? Usually operated for us at left back but loves to come inside and have a shot with his right foot. Personally, I think he lacks the bit of pace needed to be a top class full-back and occasionally he can seem a bit lethargic or not switched on. On the other hand, he definitely has a touch of class and has the reputation of being a determined character so he should make a good living somewhere - hope it's with us but not sure.

Great that Liam's back - atmosphere at Birmingham described as 'toxic' with rumours of player cliques, dressing room bust ups and fights so it's good that he's back to the peace and serenity of Finch Farm. Big decision in January whether to send him out elsewhere or keep him here and put him in the 1st team squad - the latter more likely in Unsy still in charge.

If he plays for the 1st team I don't think he can go out on loan again? Are you allowed to play for 3 clubs in one season?

..I can imagine the atmosphere at USM FF isn’t too good at the moment and I doubt he’ll be near the first team anytime soon unless he can be used in the remaining EL games. I imagine another loan might be the way to go.

He wouldn't be allowed to play a competitive game for the first team until January under the new loan rules IIRC.
