Kenny Holgate Keane Baines
------------Gueye-----------
------Davies----Rooney----
-Lennon--C-Lewin--Sandro-
Although Martina did have a good game yesterday, Kenny has shown to possess superior defensive qualities whilst still not being afraid to venture forward, which is important in a back four.
Also believe we've now reached a point where both Williams' and Jagielka's lack of pace is a real sticking point for playing Koeman's brand of football, and despite Holgate not having the physical profile of either of them, his pace and distribution is far superior.
Lennon could be switched out with Lookman (both provide real width and pace) or Vlasic (think he could prove to be a snip, possesses the physique and touch to be a success in the PL)
Sandro could be switched out with Mirallas, both of them tend to drift in off the left (and in and out of games)
Schneiderlin could do with some time on the bench imo, having players such as Gueye and Davies who are more mobile, and can bring the ball from deep fits our current situation better. Besic, who seems to blow hot and cold, can also bring the ball from deep, has an eye for a pass (nearly always forward), and brings an intensity that several older players lack.
Rooney can be switched out for Sigurdsson as a like-for-like replacement, don't believe either of them have enough pace to go past a man so would be inefficient out on the left wing.
No other option other than to play Calvert-Lewin up top, he's strong and quick, good in the air and likes to run in behind defences, which'll stretch oppositions and give the creative players more space to work with.
That said, I think Coleman (obvious reasons), Funes Mori (being left-sided, quick and good in the air), Bolasie (unpredictable and a pacy, out-and-out winger) and Barkley (hopeful thinking, I know) would all walk back into the first team when fit, which I think will co-inside with an upturn in form around the Xmas period.
