I'd take some sweet icing right now.I avoided using the word successful, cos we havent tasted success since 1987 and no, im not ignoring 1995.
True success for me is winning the League, cups are just icing.
We are beyond licking the bowl at this point for sure.I'd take some sweet icing right now.
Moyes’ xG in his final season was better than Martinez’ first season. Imagine if Moyes had had RomMartinez by a mile. We were joyous…and not afraid to take risks.
Of course, that’s because he had Moyes’s defence, but he proved Moyes was too conservative within 9 months.
Barkley, Deulofeu, Lukaku, Baines, Coleman, Jagielka…McGeady.
The end.
Can’t believe nobody’s mentioned 07/08. It seems to be ignored because of the pen defeat to Fiorentina but we were brushing teams aside that year. SK Brann and Sunderland got absolutely wholloped at Goodison, Yakubu was on an other level, Pienaar and Baines forging that relationship. Gravesen coming back and being a mad man. Honestly, some of the best footy under Moyes was that season. Osman v Larissa a key indicator of that.
