Sat in a lockdown restricted hotel bar in Carlisle dining from a very reduced menu.
Deadly quiet a surreal atmosphere.
The food, in keeping with my location, a Cumberland sausage ring, on a bed of mash, onion gravy, peas and parsnip shavings.
Comfort food personified, I loved every bit of it, and I serving ale. On my third Boddington's, the first beers I've had from a bar since March.
Happy place.

Raviolli.

Had a brinner last night, which kinda hangs around, y'know. So a meat free light pasta dish is perfect for later.

For our new Colombian friends, a brinner is a full English breakfast, for dinner.

Bacon, sausage, black pud, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns, fried bread. @Sassy Colombian
Ha, thanks for enlighten me about English people food preferences and behaviors. I have no doubt that at some point Carlos may request for me to cook him a brinner and now I won't have to use Google to figure out what in the heck does he want.

But would you clarify what is black pud? and how do you all make your hash browns with shredded or dice spouts? What's fried bread too? So much to learn about your culture and food preferences.

Btw, I got all the ingredients for the salad you recommended. I'm making it tomorrow.

Black pudding is basically blood, oatmeal, spices and fat. White pudding is a variant. Very nice with a fried breakfast.

Perhaps if the black pudding went under it's north American description of "blood pudding" you would get an idea.
I know Homer Simpson had difficulty in working it out, but I'm sure you will have little difficulty.

Forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by blood? I'm just asking because in Colombia we use the blood of the cow to make a sausage called morcilla.

Also is black pudding sweet or savory?

Black pudding is blood and guts of a sheep. (I think).

Fried bread is a slice of bread, well, fried in a saucepan, or wok. Lob an egg, or baked beans on it, with vinegar, ultimate slut food, as we say.

Hope you enjoy the salad. The portions dont matter a jot.

Did he encountered a difficulty eating too? I'm sure many Americans are not fond of blood sausages. But I'm Colombian and grew up eating something similar so I bet I would enjoy black pudding.
