Confirmed Signing Youssef Chermiti

I have mixed thoughts on this signing. He’s very young, possible potential and decent resale value and if the likes of Brighton were signing him they perhaps would have their judgement trusted more due to their track record in recent years.

On the flip side, I strongly feel that we need more prolific players preferably someone more established because it’s a bit unfair to this lad with the pressure on him given our situation and he doesn’t look like the natural goal scorer we very much need.

Good luck to him
We can't afford more established players.. anyway we've been buying established players since Moshiri arrived and it's turned us into a circus.

The riddle will be forthcoming in the next 90 minutes...
the riddle has been on few days ago, so @Tofeenut was a bit wrong. It is done today at FF apparently. so medical / club announcement in the next 48 hours, then one day where he does the fysical testing. So Thursday he can join the team training. So best we can hope for is see him warm up on the touch line for the Fulham game and not coming on lol

Got a few pelters on here for saying our transfer dealings take forever vs other clubs - we’re not even at the Everton medical stage with this lad yet ffs.

Apologies accepted.
Name first mentioned a week ago, outline fee agreed quickly, little bit of haggling between the three parties on terms and details and he’s in the country to sign seven days later. Assuming he passes his medical it’s been the most normal, undramatic transfer in history and has taken a perfectly ordinary amount of time.

From a team who are very reluctant to sell, they have already lost one centre mid. By all accounts Sporting have already bought his replacement and agreed a fee last week and we are still dragging it out.
He was first mentioned 6 days ago.. a 19 year old kid who has to move to a new country . Millions of pounds involved . Contracts , legal work and medicals. It takes time .

Credit to Thelwell and the team for going for a profile of player that is thinking about the future. Given the pressure they are under with very little resources its pleasing to see that we are still thinking long term
Thelwell is doing exactly what everyone has been crying out for, Signing for the future and Signing from abroad. ( But no, this just isn't acceptable from our DOF 🙄

Given the age and lack of experience of the lad, also makes you think we will be targeting other attacking players. Whether its on loan or emptying the penny jar. ( The scariest part of that tho is getting the details sorted in the space of 3wks..

If he can also manage to remove a few of the penny pinchers burdening our club in that time, then I don't think anyone will honestly be able to say he's done/doing a bad job..

Remember everything he tries to do is tied by the club.
