No idea who this Cherm fellow is and if hes worth anything. I will say it seems risky to bring in an unproven 19yo as your striker, so hopefully that means they also plan to bring in a 2nd one whos more proven. Personally I love the young potential, but its also much riskier to rely on youth when you may be in a relegation fight.

So what? That doesn’t get us Europe. We finished 10th. No it didn’t work out at all, it’s a direct cause of where we are now. We’ll also lose a fortune and Doucoure and Godfrey too btw.

If your point is that we shouldn’t care about resale value then I cannot help you any further as you don’t live in the real world.

No structure, alignment, or planning with how to spend £300million got us where we are.

Never said we shouldn't care about it, but a lot of folks put more emphasis on it as a criteria to buy anyone over if the player is any good.

No idea if this kid will be any good. But apart from Ronaldo I can't recall any great or good Portuguese strikers. But we'll get £10mill for him when he gets punted back cos he's young.

I hope this does happen.
The type of transfer we need to make.
The lad is only 19 and has years of improvement in him, I don't know what people expect of a player of that age.

If nothing else it will help shut up the stupid argument about lack of scouting when last year we bought Onana and nearly had Kudus a player I don't think anybody had heard of.
It seems to me that Thelwell is a very innovative DOF considering that he seems to have practically no budget.

I would be perfectly happy if we could get an older more experienced striker in as well , an Iheanacho or even Vardy to take the pressure off the young lad for the coming season.

Also, please sign someone creative for midfield.
Thanks Kev!

Moise Kean was crap for us and we still didn’t lose any money on him. Do you think that would’ve been the case if we’d bought him as a 27 year old?

Exactly. Agents and intermediaries caused so much trouble with Bilal Toure by using Sacha for starter to spin a narrative. It's a minefield.

Fab has gone a little early as far as I know and to say it's all agreed is a bit premature.

BBC are reporting that we’re close now

They just can't get the guys with a quality scoring resume. It is a risk, but better this than Maupay 2.0 for a similar price.

....Torres was great in ‘66. What a CF. Here he is at Goodison. Similar shape to this fella;

Came from the players relatives initially.
I assume from Joyce’s tweet that it would be chermiti and ideally another more senior striker as well?

This feels very much like a long term signing , which is great and all but also considering our short term need hope we aren’t wasting what meager funds we have on someone who won’t be a solution right now.
